I Would Love To Be A New Member!! Can I Join In?
I Live In Brooklyn And Have My Eyes On A 1969 Cutlass - Town Sedan.
I Am Trying To Find Out Who Is The Owner Since Its Been Sitting For The Longest While And Has The Original Everything In It.
I Will Be Trying To Take Some Pics Of It And I Am Trying To Find Out If It Has An Owner Or Abandoned.
Once I Take Some Good Pics, Can Someone Tell Me If Its Worth The Time And Effort To Bring Back To Life Or Not. I Have Seen Worse New Cars Than This Model And I Would Love To Give It Some Tlc. I First Need To See The Engine Mostly, But You Know How Difficult That Might Be Since You Got To Watch Your Back As Well
How Do I Get The Specs On That Model Vehicle Since Most Specs Are On Convertibles?
Can A Novice Like Myself Bring That Car Back To Life?
I Sure Would Love To Try And See Where I Can Get With It. I Would Definitely Be Known In Brooklyn With This Bad Boy!!
I Would Love Some Beginner Advice So That I Can Start My Way Off!!

I like 4 doors....they make great sleepers.
I don't know what your plans are, but may I suggest respraying the stock color and keeping vinyl top (after bodywork,of course). Have the interior redone as stock. Make it look like "grandma's Sunday car". Drop in some 3.42 or 3.73 gears, massage the 350 (great high-revving engines!), and run blackwall 15" tires with the hubcaps.
Then just wait for some little ricer or Rustang to f*ck with you!

The Owner Replied To Me And I Have Inspected The Vehicle. I Will Try And Take Some Pics Of The Engine. The Car Was Driven In 2k2 And The Transmission 0il Is Bright Red. The Engine Definitely Needs A Wash But I Need To Hear It Start Up. The Battery Was Dead. The Seats Are In Mint Condition, Since They Were Covered. The Best Part Is The Owner Of The Vehicle Had It Since 69 But His Son Stopped Driving It. He Wants 4,0000 For It But I Still Think That Is High. He Has Other Offers But They Are Lower. I Will Just Hope That I Can Save More Money And Make That Car Mine.
Is That A Good Price And What Else Should I Be Checking On The Car?

Looks to be in pretty decent shape except for that hood. The interior looks pretty clean, esp for a '69.
If you get it, I would def suggest a paint job and maybe add in a clear coat, to protect in those NY winters.
Climb under it a bit and check the frame out. Surface rust is fine, but if you can push a finger thought it, walk away. Also check the rear 1/4 panels from the inside, they rust thru a lot on Olds cars. Also check the frame around the front and under the raditor, make sure it's not cracked looking and feel that too. Def check the trunk pan and feel under the seats, make sure there are no holes in the floor of these areas.
That's the areas I would check. remember, this car is pushing 40 and could have lived it's entire life in NYC, the Northeast United States isn't too car friendly esp in the winter

Plus I think $4k is a bit high, maybe $2500 or $3K. But you probably should offer less than 10% or 15% than asking
You don't wanna come down too much, or he won't sell to you at all

I went to a NOPI Auto Show in Jersey this weekend and I was so open to the things you can do with a classic car.
Can I take out the bucket seats and replace them with individual seats? Change it from an automatic to stick or at least make the gear shift in the middle?
How much would it cost? Are these setups expensive?

Welcome NYC, what part of Brooklyn are you from?
As far as seats go. You can drop just about any seats you want in it.
You just need to fab up a bracket.
The cost of changing to an automatic on the floor will only be the cost of the shifter. They're pretty easy to put in.
