I have a crazy question

I have a 1969 cutlass s with a 2 speed jetaway I was wondering if I can install a hurst gate shifter in my car? do they make one for my car? I would like to install a floor shifter maybe a His and her or a hurst gate something along those lines.

Thanks

I don't believe there was ever a dual gate 2 speed floor shifter available. There are a few aftermarket 2 speed shifters out there. Most 2 speeds were column shift.

68 (and I think 67) jetaway floor shifts were 2 speed, not dual gate though. Two speed floor shifters are pretty common and not very desireable. They only have two indents for the forward speeds

Can I use a 3 speed shifter for a 2 speed car? Like just connecting 2 lines instead of all 3?

Yes, you should be able to connect the dual gate - you just would use only the 2 and 3 positions. There is only one cable from the shifter to the transmission selector arm.

or................

you can find a short tail shaft turbo 350...... it should pretty much be a direct bolt in

or you could also look at the hurst promatic

I think you could probably find a 2 speed factory floor shift at any swap meet for under a hundred...
