summit delivered and i measured the headers from front bolt hole to furthest stretch of pipe and im seeing 21 1/2". the headers will not fit at all due to they hit the firewall before reaching their hole. i had read a thread out there that said they would have went with the shorty's. why and does this not hit the proportioning block? motor, tranny are all original and in the exact placement as OEM..
please help me find the headers that will fit. the headman headers out there do not look as deep as the hookers and different bends however everywhere i have looked they are out of stock.
need guidance for my 350 screamer.

my blackjacks that are 20 plus year old fit my 68 cutlass S like a charm!! they are the cheap ones when times were a little tighter however i dont see where they make them anymore a well as with 16 gauge ceramic metallic

 

They should fit just fine, you may have to move the proportioning block, but the headers should fit. I have those on my 70 and they fit like a glove, tight but they fit.
