HELP! Rocker trim retainer clips how to install????

Just picked up the retainer clips that holds on the trim between the bumber and front wheel, Got NOS pieces off E-Bay, the ones currently on the car now are screwed on, i asked the guy at the body shop how to install them he kinda gave me a rough idea but i was`nt satisfied so stopped at another body shop and gave the same vague how to, got home and unscrewed the trim and the CLIPS were also screwed in but the clips i got have the same part numbers but don`t look the same
Can anyone please provide a detailed how to, i`m sure i`m not the only whos encountered this problem, also, there seems to be three different retainers used and i only got 2, 22510423 and the other is 22510422 are they the right ones?? and another thing the trim does`nt mount flush, My 87 Cutlass is starting to cause me nothing but grief. No wonder people just scrapped the rocker trim altogether. Awww i need a beer. or 6.
Someone help please all the rest of my trim is nice with the exception of the front two.
Thanks

Piece of cake. Take out all the 9/32 bolts out on the bottom of the body. There are little nipples on your rocker panel under the trim. Trim slides off toward the front or back of the car once the bolts are out. Once old stuff is off, stick the big part of the hole on the plastics over the nipple, and then slide the piece to the smaller part of its channel so it doesn't fall off. Then, once all of the plastic discs are in place, you can slide the trim onto them. I point them facing down, so they don't unlock on me when sliding left or right. To take the old ones off, use a scratch awl to lift the levers and use a 7/16 or similar size wrench to push them.

I described the rocker trim as per your title.

The front fender trim has different clips. Rectangles instead of little circles.
The rectangle plastic pieces should just press into 4 holes that were drilled into your fender at the factory. To remove the old ones Just drill, or heat gun them pressing out from the back.

Same concept as the door panel plastic thingys, but not designed to be yanked out like those are.

Rocker Trim

the thing is there is`nt any holes except for the ones that were put there by screwing the trim to the panel,i just phoned a few shops and nobody will touch it. So there should be a christmas tree type fastener that goes from behind the panel and attaches to the retainer? Thanks for the quick reply by the way, i`m pretty frustrated.

The ones I have are little metal circles screwed on, and the trim slides onto them.
Any bigger pics?

You can always just look at the profile of the trim, and make your own out of washers or plexiglass.

I've never seen those before. Only circles and rectangles.
