Data Tag question

1972 Supreme Convertible...I have owned this car for about 10 years and just today I decided to take a close look at the data tag.....As you can see this is a Cameo white body (11)....but I am confused about the original top color....in my 1972 chassis service manual the colors are listed using two capital letters..AA=white, etc. My tag has a single letter G...BTW, GG=green.....any thoughts?

Data tag decodes as

72 = model year
3 = Oldsmobile
42 = Cutlass Supreme with V-8 engine
67 = convertible body style
LAN = Lansing assembly
TR 977 = white vinyl bucket seats
Paint 11 = cameo white lower body color
Paint G = green upper body color (convertible top)
10C = built 3rd week of October 1971
A51 = front bucket seat

You're to be commended for posting the clearest, easiest to read photo of a body tag I've ever seen.

Thanks jaunty75....I was in complete disbelief that a white car with white interior would have been born with a green top....thankfully someone changed it to white.... black would have been OK as well.

While it was probably not commonly ordered, I don't think a white car with a green top would have been totally repulsive. Here's an image I found online that is probably a good indication of what your car originally looked like. You see so many convertibles with white or black tops that it's a bit refreshing to see one that's a little different.

I'd love to own this car.

The issue is with the green, not colors that match (or lack thereof). If a green car with white trim is alright, why not the inverse?
