The right way to get rid of rust is get rid of it. Anything like POR or others that cover up rust is a waste of time. If its just surface sand blast and coat with an Epoxy. If its rotten cut it out and replace metal.

Having had a 65 442, I know that they were notorious for rear window leaks into the trunk, thus rusting out the trunk floor pan, then working it's way to the 1/4s behind the wheels. Best to start at the top and work your way down. Check if the window is leaking. If not that's a good sign of a tight trunk, therefore eliminating chances of rust starting. Also, inside the rear wheelwells, at the bottoms. Nice to hear of a rustfree original.

After doing a complete inspection and you do not find rust in all of the areas mentioned by the previous two answers. Then use Por as a undercoat in all of the areas under the car, wheel wells, trunk pan, etc. Best way is to get your car on a lift so you can check everywere, this includes over the head lights. This is always a missed area. Same goes for the taillight area. Por makes a spray on product that works best with the right equipment. roll on or brush won't get to the hard to reach places.

Good luck
