Bad acceleration, Broken TCS Solenoid

I'm looking for a TCS Solenoid for my 1972 Cutlass, 2 bbl 350, can be NOS or nice used, as long as it is not broken and is 100% functional. I bought a rebuilt carb which runs great at idle, but acceleration is horrible, my timing was off 4 degrees, fixed that but it did not help the acceleration issue. Hoses are where they should be, they are all new and no leaks. My TCS Solenoid is broken at the electrical contact, there is now nothing for the plug to be inserted into, the contacts have broken off. That may be the issue but I rather doubt it. Accelerator pump seems to be ok.

The car had no acceleration issues with the other carb, looks like I may have bought a dog rebuilt carb. Figures.

Why are you still using the TCS?

Have you tried going back to your old carburetor?

It's shot, the E10 has done it in, and it leaks all over the place, hopefully it will make a nice core but I doubt it. I'll have the car sit & wait for a another one before I put the prior one back on. I tried bypassing the TSC and the car ran even worse. Thx, though.

Curious, I don't know much about these TSC solenoids, it could be bypassed and/or not used altogether? If so, where would those 3 lines into the side of it and the one on the top go to?

So it's intact, without physical damage, and not rusted, but it leaks.

Sounds perfectly fine.

What's wrong with just getting a rebuild kit, cleaning it up, and replacing the gaskets?

What exactly did you do to bypass it?

Just run the vacuum hose from your ported vacuum barb on the carburetor directly to the vacuum diaphragm on your distributor.
Done.

The DVCS and TCS are nothing more than hamhanded schemes to wreck your fuel mileage, destroy your performance, and make your engine overheat.
Get rid of them.
