79 Cutlass
79 Cutlass
Hey guys. New member, long time car guy. I recently went on the hunt for a 78-80 G-body and came across my 1979 Cutlass. It is a fun car, 3spd, 350 Rocket, posi and a damn good black interior. I got the car for short money because it was decently solid and a decent frame.
My problem lies with trying to find parts for this damn thing. I can't find body parts for the life of me. I need rear quarters, a headliner, doors, header panel, and all sorts of other fun ****.
I am eventually making it a small block chevy car with a 4spd and need to find a clutch pedal and stuff too.
I have tried to locate as much as possible but even checking all the restoration companies has found me out of stock rear quarters. If anyone knows where I can find parts for a 79 Cutlass let me know. Also, I want to put an later 80's grill and bumper and stuff on there but dont know if it will all fit.
Thanks in advance for the help guys!

79 Cutlass
Hi, and welcome to the forum. I am doing a frame-off to an 80. I found most of my "hard to find stuff" on Ebay. A complete 79 is being parted out now. Ebay auct# 130096160010. I recently saw doors and quarters for sale too. I'm not sure if the auctions are still active, but I can check with the seller of the quarters if you like. I had my headliner material replaced for $80.00 at a local interior shop. As for the 80 front end, it will easily fit. The hardest part of that swap will be the wiring. Get the harness with the clip, if you don't already have it. Also, check out the small block section of this forum before you decide to change to a Chevy engine. After all, you didn'y buy a Monte.
Best of luck with your project. Jim.

I am converting it to a 4 speed car and mating that to a small block chevy is alot easier and cheaper for me than finding a bellhousing that will fit to a 455 or rocket 350 from a muncie or a super t-10.
I am open for suggestions but with he luck I am having with this car, it is a million times easier for me to go bow tie drive line.
