72 Cutlass Hoiday HT

This is What my Vin pulled up Year:1972Division:OldsmobileSeries:Cutlass SupremeBody:Holiday Hardtop (2 door)Engine:350 (5.7) V8 4BBLPlant:Arlington, TexasSerial Number:183198My ?? is what kind of motor came in these cars that year ?? 442,403,455,350 and did some of these cars have the dual gate shift avail ???my does have floor shifter but my console was all ready gone.

In 1972 you could have got a 350 or 455 engine, 2 or 4 bbl carb with either. The dual gate was an option in 1972 but I've never seen one in a Supreme, only the 442 and Cutlass S. That doesn't mean it couldn't be ordered in one though, someone with more knowledge than I would need to chime in on this. John

Not sure what your question is, exactly. YOUR car came with a 350 4bbl, as you've already determined from the VIN. There were a number of available 350s and 455s in 1972. The 403 was only made in 1977-1979. Good luck finding a 442 Olds motor. The factory never built an engine with that displacement.
