70 W31 Hardtop Interior Details

Working on a '70 W31 hardtop-Holiday Coupe and I have a couple of questions. Did any of the dashes have the full width wood applique (in addition to that around the gauges)? I've seen cars with and without it (mostly without).

Did the door panels have the chrome trim plates under the arm rests? Again I've seen both, mostly without.

Thanks.

Originally, my car was the instrument pod only, but thanks to a warranty replaced glove box door (with the wood applique), I then purchased the remaining middle piece.

I did a little homework and figured this out:

Regular Production Option BC1 Wood Grain Instrument Panel, available on the Cutlass Holiday and Sport Coupe but not on the F85, was for the full dash and glovebox wood grain. As JoesW31 noted, it also included the dash pad chrome piping.

Regular Production Option D15 Deluxe Arm Rests, available on the Cutlass Holiday and Sport Coupe but not the F85, supplied by the chrome backing plates. Apparently the stainless moldings inset into the arm rest bases were standard.

My car has both of these options, as well as AK1 Deluxe Seat Belts. I don't know if these were factory installed, an earlier owner may have added them.

Good topic. So, if you checked BC1 on the order for Wood Grain Instrument Panel, you'd receive the wood grain across the entire dash (radio area, glovebox). Can I assume that if you did not get that option, you'd still get the wood grain on the instrument panel piece alone?

As for the seat belts, what's the difference between the standard rear shoulder belts and the deluxe rear shoulder belts? Should belts in the front would be AS1 Std. Frt. Shoulder Belts, correct?

Gauge bezel got the woodgrain insert no matter what. That whole plastic part of the bezel is vacuum-metallized-"chrome" and they didn't make a separate plastic gauge bezel in a "plain" plastic such as black, etc.

Can't help on the belts....someone else will chime in.
