1971 A Body Front Light Harness & Batt. Cable Differences?

On the 71 I just acquired - built mid May of 71 at Framingham - the front light harness is not wrapped in tape, but is in the plastic tubing like all 72's have. Also, the car currently has a side terminal battery, and I think the negative cable is original, but from all the 71's Ive seen and what is in the PIM the A bodies were all top post battery equipped. Were late production 71's possibly switched to the 72 style harness and battery terminal type? Or do I have a Franken-car?
