As I noted in your other thread, it's not a Hurst transmission. It's a Muncie 3spd with a Hurst shifter. Three speed production was relatively low because most buyers upgraded to AT or 4spd, especially on the Supreme convertibles. That was RPO M14, an $84.26 option.

Thank you

Thanks for the info. We figured since the shifter was a Hurst the the transmission was also.

Hurst did not make transmissions, just the shifters for them.

Was perusing the vehicles going up for sale at Mecum Kissimmee. There is a ‘70 Cutlass S 4-speed with buckets, blue/blue on their website. Not much said about documentation or originality. Looks like a driver.

There were few made because most people just sprang for the four speed. Rare doesn't mean desirable or valuable.

Saw a 70 Supreme with 3 on the tree @ CT NEOC show, up to that point I never realized they had made such an animal.

I’m also curious. I had a 1970 Cultass SX w-30 with the hurst dual gate shifter and a 455. 2bbl. It was red with a black convertible top and black interior
I always wondered how many were like it.

No you didn't The W30 package was never offered on the SX and was never a 2bbl. The SX cars built prior to February 1970 got the RPO L33 455 2bbl motor rated at 320 HP.

There was a 1970 convertible with a 3-speed on the column at the OCA Nationals last week. It was a bare bones car restored to a very high level.
