1966 Cutlass Convert as delivered 4/66

Well, I hope I managed to attach the picture of my 1966 Cutlass as delivered in April 66. Believe it or not it's the only good snapshot I have. As delivered it was a Cutlass convert, 330 CI/320 HP high compression, dual exhaust, quadrajet carb, 4 speed, minimum slip, bucket seats, console, PS/PB, radio with rear speaker. Lucerne Mist, light blue vinyl interior and a blue top. I believe one of 1184 Cutlass with a 4 speed built. Had to order that car because my mother wouldn't cosign the note on a 442. I had just been discharged from USAF and had no credit. Boy do I miss that car. Looking for another one.

Thanks Wayne for the picture. Gives me a much better understanding on what the "Stance" was on a new 66. It is much higher than I would have thought. I'm sure you miss it.

My 66

In it's day it was a real sleeper on the street. It also spent a few Sundays 66-68 at Dragway 42 in West Salem, Ohio. I ran it in BB/AM. Managed to beat a few 442 and goats. My brother in law has some 8mm being redone on disc. Can't wait to see it.
Thanks
Wayne

Good luck on the search and would be really neat to see some race video of your '66.

Good luck in your search for the '66. I haven't found many others but will keep an eye out up here. I would also like to see some old race videos.

Dragway 42

I have the disc from my brother in law. it was a great birthday present (4/2/43). The conversion from 8MM is a little weak at times. The video has 26 minutes of clips from Dragway 42 in West Salem Ohio in 66. There is some video of the Hurst Oldsmobile girl in there also. Few remember that at that time 42 was a double strip and it can be seen in the video. All that said, I was happy to see my 66 go twice. Enough to make me cry happy tears. Now how do I get the few seconds of my car from the disc to my Mac and on the forum. Any Ideas?
