Everyone has probably heard by now of the passing of Frank Gifford yesterday at age 84. I always thought he was a great football announcer, and I loved the heyday of Monday Night Football, when he was the referee between Howard Cosell and Don Meredith and when pro football games on something other than Sunday afternoon was still a novelty. With Gifford's passing, all three of that triumvirate are now gone.

As a little bit of MNF history, does anyone remember the original opening sequence of Monday Night Football?
