How many things can you find wrong with this 1965 Starfire that is offered on Hemmings for $39,900? So many bad-even dangerous things! And still he asks almost forty grand for the car!

There are no wire looms- spark plug wires are literally laying on the exhaust manifold.
A plastic fuel filter is spliced into the fuel line on top of the intake manifold.
If you look closely at picture number 8 of the exterior, you can see the broken left rear shock hanging down under the car.
The switch for the power top is dangling out of the dashboard... All this and more can be yours for just $40,000

I saw this exact car on a used car lot near me back in February 2025, and I posted photos of it here:

https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ar-lot-184425/

Interesting that the mileage is still shown as exactly the same, 44002. I'm guessing the odometer is broken.

As noted in the above thread, the car was sold at the 2021 Mecum Kissimmee auction for $14,300. It had also sold at a Valparaiso, Indiana auction in early February 2025 for all of $8,750. Yes, $40,000 for it now is something else.

You might think they'd fix the things that drag it down. What would it take to put the top switch back in the dash, get the wires off the exhaust and move that fuel filter someplace where it won't start a fire if it leaks? As for the heat and AC, it's just odd they would strip all that out of the car. Even the defrost won't work without a fan.
