More work on my 1964 Dynamic convertible

I'm back in the driveway working on the brakes. This isn't a tech post or even a rant- but I found my brake fluid was low (so of course, there must be a leak) and now I'm ripping apart the rear brakes. The driver's side wheel cylinder appears to have been leaking, and it's a filthy mess. I used a good degreaser and I'm replacing the brake shoes and wheel cylinders on both sides. I have come to the place where I just cut the brake lines at each end and replace the brake line when I do stuff like a wheel cylinder on a 60 year old car. There's no way on God's green earth I'm going to get a flare nut to spin free. I just cut the line at the nut and use a socket to extract it.

I'm also trying to decide if I might have a leaky axle seal on one or both sides- as long as I'm in there, but I'm thinking the axle seal doesn't have to be part of a brake job. I just have to check in before the holidays and see if I have a greasy mess on that side of the car again. That'll probably tip me off.

Meantime, I'm planning a trip to Vermont and New Hampshire for a weekend (or 2) of "leaf peeping", sight seeing, just driving the car. There's a pretty good list of work to be done over the winter, but none of it can't be managed with a coupla quarts of oil- and maybe pulling the + battery cable before I go to bed at night.

It's a driver, not a show car.

The main thing is that you're driving and enjoying the car.
And it looks good enough to me that I sure wouldn't be ashamed to enter it in a car show.

Thanks Charlie.
It really does look good and I'm proud knowing I did all the work myself.
