I'm just throwing out a line here to see if there is any interest,
Do you have a favorite Photo ? (I have several) it could be a landscape a photo of you with your Olds, a vacation photo or a picture of you as a youngster or teen a event or something you just happen to catch on film.
Some may not want to participate for privacy reasons or because their last photo is hanging in the post office.
Sometimes it might be nice to put a face with a vehicle that's up to you. Just testing the waters.
I'm now fat and bald but not embarrassed it is what it is, I look at some pics from my late 20's and early 30's and cant believe it's the same person !!
I don't have one of my H/O yet. This is a good one of my grandfather's Monte Carlo in front of my grandparent's house, some 45 years between the photos.
So far so good !!
I also will have a hard time posting all my favorites !!
not all may be my favorites but may give you a laugh, I am going to post several times as it may take me a while to find them !!
I will start out with one that's is one of my favorites the back of the photo says it was taken in Corsica the date however has been smudged beyond recognition, one of the greatest generation, Sargent Solly Sr. my Oldman !!

My buddy Jim (sadly gone now) had a Monty just like that same exact color but it had a 400 emblem on the rocker, it was actually a 402 big block but I guess Chevy said we are not changing the emblem for 2 cubic inches !! when ever he would go in for parts they would ask him big block or small block he would puff out his chest and with a smile say BIG BLOCK !!
it was a beautiful car !!!! did great burnouts too . great pics thanks Do I remember from a previous post your doing restorations on that house ?
Delivery Day, My brand new 1966 Cutlass convertible. Lucerne Mist, light blue top and interior. 330/320 HP, P/S, P/B, dual exhaust, minimum slip and rear speaker. Can't forget the factory 4-speed and console. I always wanted her back but never could find one.
Here is another one of my favorites because it brings back a memory,
I apologize for the poor picture quality but remember the camera of the day was a Kodak instamatic 110( crappy cartridge film format )
this is a 1971 Triumph Bonneville, it was bone stock when I bought it, I had several pieces chromed added Z bars and had a sportster seat cut to fit added 6 inch over tubes TT pipes shorties and had it professionally painted candy apple blue with ghost flames don't ask me why it appears emerald green, it was relatively quick for a two cyl of its day. that bike never gave me a lick of problems !! One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was selling that bike I wish I still had it !!! note its all woman around the bike? my kind of pic-nic !!
Maybe a little to much about me but... my wife took this picture at one of my very last races. He (44) got me (77) on the holeshot and I was right behind him. He had the clean air and I was eating his mud as you can see by the number plates. He was also a VERY good MX racer. We had one lap left and I was nearly to give up hope when I decided the race was not over and started putting so much pressure on him he finely made a mistake with about 100 yards left to the race. One of my hardest fought wins and also one of my last races.
So far so good !!

Excellent keep them coming !! as the thread progresses and I find a few more FAVORITE pics I will find a few more that should make us laugh it amazing how styles change, hair length changes, personal appearance changes. I have been fat, skinny, bearded clean shaven had hair vs the current follicly challenged Solly. I may sneek in a pic of the wife since she is also one of my favorites but trust me if she finds out she will be furious !! she hates her picture taken or seen, but I'm a risk taker (ha)
I am going to post this now because it is positively one of my favorites, here is the story behind it. Last year my youngest daughter got married. it was kind of a quick deal because fiancée was being deployed to Kuwait so it was just a backyard wedding the whole family chipped in to make it happen it was a long day of decorating set up etc... at the end of the evening Grandpa was pooped !! my Grand daughter (who is for sure the apple of my eye) came to me and said "Grandpa I'm tired " I said "so am I monkey " just then the photographer who was putting her equip. away walked buy and said don't move !!!!! this photograph is the end result, just one of those moments in time I will cherish forever
Grandpa and his monkey (Ivy) P/S feel free to include the story behind the photo !!!
AFAIK only one Olds stocker ever got a color centerfold in a magazine, this was in the Feb 1967 Hi-Performance Cars. It is my favorite centerfold of all time, and why I chose to re-create the car in 2005-6. Fifty six years later, it still looks as good--can you say that about your favorite centerfold?
Just a happy place for the misses and I! We love sipping on 100% Maui coffee with cane sugar and little creamer sitting on the lanai in Maui during sunrise on Maui listening to waves break on the beach.

Three of my fav photos old and new..I had a 68 442 convertible 4 speed in high school, bought this 65 post gto from a junkyard I often visited. Guy blew tge transmission and was heading cross country, didn’t have the cash to pay for the trans. I traded him a 69 442 I had bought with a blown engine, I replaced the engine with an olds 350..it was a reliable car so he traded me for the goat but I had to pay the trans bill..Goat had an arrow straight body and my older brother had a 65 when I was a kid, idolized that car so this was my chance to get one..stripped it, did body work, a buddy sprayed it 1970 cadillac metallic burgundy..another buddy owned a machine shop, we rebuilt a 400, 11-1 pistons, speedpro stout hydraulic cam, tripower, headers, 355 gears.. Car was a strong running goat for the times..Awesome memories..of course, my grandfather and I who was the wisest guy I know..still miss him. Current pic my wife with my 66 car. I just finished transitioning this car to a track pack car with the help of Curt Anderson and Mike Richards on technical advice and Curt obviously as well, using his W 30 Kit that he sells. I’ll post pictures that transition here in the next week or so. I ended up having to weld in a new trunk into the car. I went to transition the battery to the trunk I thought it was just some light holes in trunk floor, but once you start grinding on them they become big hole so I just replace the whole trunk and welded it in myself. Performed all the work myself, found an old shroud on one of the ebay olds sites. I just finished transitioning this car to a track pack car with the help of Curt Anderson and Mike Richards on technical and parts needs. I’ll post pictures that transition here in the next week or so. The shroud was found in the trunk of a 66 442 by a guy who bought the car..Some of you may recall seeing the rusted out piece on FB olds sites..? it was rusted to hell on both ends and in the center., I fixed it by fabricating metal and taking my time on the fab work, welding it back together and had the top sent out and had it fixed and re-chrome plated so I got into it fairly reasonable just a lot of work on my end but it was worth it..Truly enjoyed it. Now I am retired I have the time..My career was never a 40 hour week so 30 years went by quickly without a lot of time to do work on my own cars. ( in the gto pic you will notice a 71 el camino on jack stands..I bought that SS 454 elco with a blown engine, fixed it, sold it to my buddy..cool old elco.
I told you we may get a few laughs along the way, here is a photo I think from 74 a un-bearded (both my chins were shaved) full head of hair Solly !!
the gal is my wife now together for 50 years 5 years of dating 45 years of marriage, what she saw in the porky, dorky dude I don't know
my buddies told me I out kicked the coverage ? it took me a while to figure out what they meant but being the sharp feller I am I finally figured it out !! they told me I must have had a line of $hit long enough to equal the equator !!!
Andy in post number 25, do you know anything about the welding rigs in the background? The one with the gin poles looks exactly like my dad's sometime around the mid or late 60's. He was a 50 year pipeline welder. I worked many summers with him on lines all over the mid-west.
One of the reasons I love Az.
Both photo's are just I-phone photo's but they are among my favorites # 1 got up early one morning to take the dog for a walk and was greeted by a beautiful sunrise !! photo #2 went out to water the rose bushes and started the evening with a great sunset.
Sunrise, 20 July 2022, from our deck 30-miles South of St. Louis. The Mississippi is directly behind the treeline in the background. We can hear the barges running on the river at night.
Me, my daughter and my Mom all in the front bench. When I was my daughter’s age that was me riding in the middle with my Mom and Dad. Dad is no longer here but fun memories with my Mom.
I have one that I will have to find,me with my 1st car which was a 1989 Olds 98.Got me through high school and college and was a good car.Was called a grandpa's car a lot, parents bought it for me from a family that was selling it due to the grandfather whom bought it new was going in a home
Here is a favorite pic from an earlier era of my life. I was single, ( irresponsible ) and only was interested in my Oldsmobile's, street racing and girls, but girls were #2.. It usually did not take them long for figure it out and leave for more attention somewhere else.
I would guess this pic is 1989 -90. I was in the Air Force stationed at Castle AFB near Merced California. The car scene was incredible.
My 442 in the garage was set up for Saturday nights with a solid cam 455, 4.56 gears and a NOS nitrous system. The 68 Cutlass convertible was my daily driver. I was an NCO so I had an off base allowance and rented this house on a 1000 acre ranch 20 minutes from the base. Still have the 442 but the convertible was sold before I left the military.
