How many Hurst owners?

Redoldsman's recent 75 H/O purchase got me wondering. How many Hurst/Olds owners do we have?

I'll start. 1974 Pace Car replica, white/black targa with black interior, low optioned 350 car.

She runs as well as the Hondas (they don't).

Better days at the 2016 Car Craft Summer Nationals. The 73 in the background is a V code.

Nice!! I love the decals on the rear quarters.

Thank you to everyone that has posted on this thread. Please keep them coming.

When I was 18-19 I had a chance to buy a 68 Hurst Olds that needed to be put back together. Freshly painted. Three shorty dual gate consoles with shifters. Three original carburetors. Everything was there. 2500.00 🤨 I already had my 70 442 so I really had no room. Passed on it. Kick myself daily. I still have the ad somewhere. It was in the major newspaper out here for over a month at that price.

You bet, since 2018. This this turned out to be a really nice driver, the timing chain was replaced last year, exhaust the year before with a correct looking muffler (1 in 2 out) made by Waldron. Doing my best to keep it up in good running condition. This past year in TN it got a 1st at the Olds Nationals. I think it presents well with the T-Tops & white interior.

Right now I'm working out the bugs in the radio & antenna, seems to be ongoing.

Nice. Oh the old days. Funny thing back then we wanted the Old cars. 70 442 or whatever was only 14 years old. Back then they were OLD cars. I think it is cool to see later models finally get some love.

I agree. You know it's funny. One of the baddest Oldsmobile's ever built was a 68 Hurst Olds...Anyone?... Anyone?...

68,69 I think it's a toss up IMHO. My wife likes the 1969 H/O the best. I told her she's free to buy one.

I know the 68 AC car had C heads and one cam, and the 68 non AC car had D heads, a bigger cam, and I think a 3.91 rear instead of a 3.08. I don't know about the 69, other than it had D heads and a 455. So I don't know which was faster, I presume it was 68 non AC, 69 all, 68 AC in terms of performance.

I read someplace here that, with all the compiled tests, the 66 W-30 was fastest, and I don't recall whether the 70 W-30 stick was faster than the 68 H/O or the other way around.

Fastest Oldsmobile -- really!

This is a mute point not something worth thinking about - arguing or discussing. These cars are collector cars, do I or any of you really care which is faster might be important if the discussion was "what is the rarest"
My wife's 69 H/O can rip the tires off the wheels - create a white cloud that covers a 100 ft area by burning rubber "who cares" you want to talk Olds horse power how about the base 455 with the chain driven duel OHC that was built for Can Am & Le Mans racing it's preliminary testing before modifications was 900 hp after mods they wouldn't publish results however the RPM's were 9-10,000 a tragedy the GM executive branch got wind of it & stopped everything which was typical of how GM treated Oldsmobile many thought that the engineers at Oldsmobile we're to advanced & bulletproof the the liking; jealousy prevailed big time a GM & many Divisions always complained to upper management at GM - like I said tragedy

69 Hurst get my vote! First saw one at 13. Loved that car ever since. Mail boxes as hood scopes!

Similar story to HighwayStar. Saw one locally with a For Sale sign when I was probably 14 or 15 years old bicycling to the auto parts store to buy paint or something. Thought it was so outrageous I went home to get my camera. Just recently finally got one. Not the same one from decades ago, I wonder what became of it.

1969 h/o

To appreciate the scope & engineering design of a 442 converted to a Hurst Olds is humbling & awesome especially if your a retired engineer trying to detail it to death so it was EXACTLY the way it was when it came off the assembly line & came rolling out of Demmer then when it was displayed in the dealership.
My mind & psyche are my worst enemies GOOD for the CAR - BAD for Me lol

Performance rankings of the Olds musclecars are frequently discussed here.

Yes, Oldsmobiles are great but this post seems to be totally unnecessary. Are you trying to be a moderator? Maybe I am missing something.

I've shared these before, bringing home the '68. Have put 12,000 miles on the '69, '68 gets restored this winter. Previously sold the '72 and '79.

Very cool. I love the 69 - 68 picture. That 68 came out of Pueblo Colorado right?
Is it just the lighting making the top on the 72 look dark?
I always enjoy seeing people's cars. Thank you.
