Any hunters out there?

Just curious. Been seein much? 70* this weekend and 45mph winds. Nice but not the normal season. Last year it was 30* with a few inches of snow.
Good Luck.

I hunt. But honestly, your post doesn't mean much to anyone if no one knows your location?

Gotcha. I haven't hunted Northern Illinois & Wisconsin for many years, so I am useless regarding deer counts up North. Where I currently reside on the coast of NC there are tons of deer this year. We don't get the cold weather like up North, and I've always been surprised how many deer are taken here each year. This year I've really seen quite a number of them. Hope you have a good season!

I quit hunting nearly 35 years ago because I couldn't deal with young punk hunters catching buck fever and going crazy in the woods. Blaze orange didn't mean a thing to them and neither did property lines.

Don't hunt but I have made sure I have plenty of firepower and ammunition for all of it. It's a necessity in this day and age.

Thanks. There is something to be said about sitting in the stand in just about nuthin. Better than being bundled up so much you cant move. Deer counts are decent, saw probably 20 so far. That and had 47 turkeys amble by this morning.

Well, it was near 100º here in the low desert a couple of days ago, so no way am I going out in that. A front came through yesterday and another one tonight, so it should cool down enough for me to get out and chase quail around the desert. My neighbor is up in the northwestern part of the state at higher elevation enjoying freezing temperatures and snow for an elk hunt. Sounds fun whether there are any elk or not.

I can relate to what you're saying. I've talked about this subject with my brothers & friends and it boils my blood.

Only had one bad experience with a poacher/road hunter. Nailed him. Pretty sure his truck/gun/gear are now property of the state. Unfortunatly. I am sure he could hunt after 5 years.

I was a Bambi slyer from the age of 12 and shot most anything that walked crawled or just sat in the western US and Alaska. My living room looks rather gruesome if you you are not a hunter for all the dead critters hanging on the walls. I am a bit busted up these days but still love to varmint hunt using sorta antique single shot rifles. Like a 32 ford with a hemi I shoot hot rod antique single shots chambered in modified twenty and thirties calibers to match the firearms. Most will shoot better than I can hold and they have nostalgia dripping off of them. Just as I enjoy old cars I like antique firearms. The exception is I find inaccurate firearms uninteresting.....
