Inline Tube threatening Olds boards?
#4
Join the Olds google group and search for "inline tube." Used to be lots of stuff on realoldspower.com but all the posts have been deleted.
If it is legal threats that caused them to take down the posts at ROP (and I have no idea if this is the case), I doubt they will get anywhere with Google. I hear they have deep pockets.

the Krytas came on realoldpower talking trash about a board member, big time war of words.
the Krytas were acting like teenagers.
aformentioned vendor had a confrontation with the Krytas at the Homecoming in Lansing.
then this.

OK I'll ask whats a Krytas?
I saw a problem with one of the vendors and the police were standing in front of his booth while a couple of other people sat on a golf cart and watched the vendor pack up his stuff.
So what happened?

From what I've seen on this, their sales must be affected. The thread(s) mentioned that were removed had MANY negatives on the company mentioned. But in their defense, there were also a "few" people that said they were happy with the company's product.
But, there were many more haters than lovers, therefore, I believe their sales have been affected by all of this.
I am sure the visual display at the Homecoming was a great sales pitch for them. ...as well as their actions at the same venue...
I sure wish I were there for that one.

edit: I believe that the Krytas are the owners of the company in question.

Heh. Like all this legal activity isn't going to affect their sales once word gets out. People don't like to deal with lawsuit-happy businesses, because they will always suspect there was a valid reason the trash was talked in the first place.
The two times I've used them, the product was good and fit right. Not saying their quality couldn't have slipped or they might have made a couple pieces that were "off" enough to make a difference especially to a fussy customer, or to one looking for a freebie. There ARE people like that in the world.
Considering the principals involved in the original ROP thread, I think it's a pissing match that has escalated.
GM, Ford and Chrysler all suffered repercussions from their enthusiast base in the early 90s when their lawyers went after vendors and car clubs wanting licensing fees for use of any "trademark". It was widely viewed as extortion and shakedown.
Then GM found itself in Beretta Firearms' sights (no pun intended) over the Chevrolet Beretta. They lost and had to pay a royalty to Pietro Beretta S.p.A on every Chevy Beretta built. And you wondered why the Beretta was a short-lived name... GM backed off on the licensing shyt after that, and became much friendlier to the clubs especially.
But it's the kind of thing that happens when lawyers get bored or discover a need to justify their continued employment.

Are you saying there are only two reasons?
Is it necessary to have a reason or not have a reason when communicating in this forum?
Is that based on your value of the subject? Do you have real world proof or evidence to put a value on the matter? Based on the real world impact to olds enthusiasts i would value this topic more than the rev characteristics of a 425 vs a 455.
Technically nobody is talking. Maybe if there were less ebullying and more talking, people would behave differently. Nothing worse than e-bullys.

The ROP threads ended with them trashing some very well respected Olds people.
If you do a search on Inline Tube sucks/problems/issues etc youll find a lot of people that got pimped by them. Usually a wrong part that the guys couldnt get corrected.

As I've said on OP, I've had good dealings with a tube company that shall remain nameless. I've also had good dealings with Right Stuff.

Exactly. It is not necessary to expound on the problems. On a forum like this it can be handled like a vote. Vote for (elaborating doesn't hurt) or vote against (without elaborations which is where the escalations start).
