A totally immersive event! Amazing to hear those radial engines and see them fly (and you can tour/ ride as well for additional fee). Reenactments, tanks, Jeeps, performers, vendors, etc and WWII vets too. 35th year! Highly recommend. https://maam.org/wwii/
If you are not in the area, or cannot go, the FB fan page has great coverage to follow along. There will be a 1941 Olds there as well. https://www.facebook.com/groups/89613676983/
You are welcome. I went on Saturday which was the actual 82nd anniversary of D-day. They do an actual jump from the C-47, quite moving especially on that day. 1940 and 41 Oldsmobile staff cars were also spotted along with other antique automobiles. There are much better photographs on the Fans FB page, but here are a few I took. The last one is the P-61 Black Widow the museum is restoring and the main reason behind this show. Go to the restoration webpage to see the huge effort that was taken to first rescue this plane and then restore it to flying condition. https://maam.org/the-widows-web/
What an event. They have been working on that P61 for lots of years. I have followed the history of it. Lots of dedication there. I was at the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Route 66 a little over a week ago. They had six centenarians that were grand marshals of the parade. Two of them were men and both were WWII Vets. I went up and thanked them for their service and shock their hands. These guys still had a pretty dang good grip to be over 100. They were both very alert. There are not many of these guys left. Thanks for taking the time to post.

No problem in posting a few pics. Redoldsman, I see you are a Vietnam Vet, thank you for your service too. There were a few WWII vets at this event in the hangar, but as you say not many left. But this event continues to carry their stories forward, so we don't forget.
Thank you for the nice pics.
I read the story of the restoration of the P-61. WOW! It makes restoring a car seem like child's play.
You're welcome. Yes, amazing work on the P-61 and can't wait to see it done and flying. I know when it does for the first time at WWII Weekend, it will be crowded!
