I've got a 1965 Cutlass 4 door that I'd gradually been dismantling for parts. I found another car I want to drag home, so I need the space and decided to finish taking this one apart. When I moved the front bench seat some coins fell out of it. This is the only interesting one, common date so its not worth a lot but its fun finding something like this. What have others found? John

 

Beats finding old gas receipts and left over lunch paraphernalia.

 

I'm still poor so nothing real good. I did find a almost new Gerber knife in a Bronco I once bought, I wonder where it is now? Oh well I was happy when I found it.... Tedd

 

Tedd, you just reminded me. The first real job I had was when I was 14, bucking hay for a little old Dutchman who immigrated to the US around 1920. He was in his 90's and still had a pocket knife he got in his teens. I can't count how many pocket knives I've misplaced and lost over the years! Gerber is a good brand, yes that would have been a nice find.

 

I cleared out an old Electra in the wreckers and hauled out about $3 in face value of silver coins. All common date, but when silver was paying 10 x face $30 worth of melt isn't a bad deal.

 

I found the remains of a joint in the ash tray, LOL! when I brought home my '68 4-4-2 It was so old and dried out it nearly puffed into dust when tipped out of the well. It must have been some good stuff to make the smoker forget about it, HAHA

 

i had a buddy with a 64 le mans he was storing at my place,it was setting outside and one day i was walking by it and just happened to look inside and the recent rains had left the rear footwells filled with water,so i pulled the seats and carpet and when i pulled the back seat out found 7 hundred dollar bills folded together,peeled em apart and dried em,then spent em

 

That nickel may be worth more than you think .
You can clearly read the date . Many "buffalo" nickels you can't , The date was on a raised portion that wore quickly .

My son bought a 67 post car from Henry on here. When we tore out the rear panels there was a plastic bag with a big stack of receipts from service being done from when the car was new. No coins.

I bought a 65 Plymouth Belvedere, went to clean it out and I found chicken bones, lots of Lotto tickets and two warrants for the owners arrest.

 

I bought an old 67 Cutlass 4 speed several years ago and this was in the trunk in an old box wrapped in tissue.

I found a money clip (empty) and a parking ticket stub to a horse race track in california when I cleaned out the 442 convertible.
Also found 2 sheath knives over the years a Western "boot knife" and a CUTCO hunting knife I still have them both. But those cars are long gone

 

My brother bought a 64 Cutlass in the late 70's. Under the seat was a whole joint and some women's panties, made our perverted minds wander it did.

 

It's in about F-12 or "Fine" condition, and it's not the three legged variety. It's also from the Philly mint, so nothing special. With that kind of corrosion on it, it'll never be worth any real money, a couple of bucks at the most, but most coins shops wouldn't even look at this thing. Those things were made from a cheap alloy of nickel and copper, and the copper is trying to leach out. Clean it and it will pit and be totally worthless except as a nickel. Best to leave it alone. It's a nice keepsake though.
