Van guys

Okay time to fess up! How many of you had a van back in the day. Mine was a 1968 chevy 108 no window long bed in 1975.I paneled it carpeted it. Put very big stereo house speakers in the back by the rear door. Mounted a 8 track tape deck in the ceiling with altered twin jack head phones adjustable control. They came with one. Had a big bean bag in the back. The wheels was chrome reverse with 12 inch wide MOHAWK big wide lettered rear tires. Standard tires on the front. White top light purple body. Engine was 307 auto with posi rear end. The final touch was my American flag hung in behind passenger seat and drivers. Yeah i had long hair then. I still have a soft spot for this year van and may buy one if i ever see one cheap near me.

I didn't, but one of my best friends did. Orange 1975 Dodge 100. We built a plywood bed platform in the back and installed a small refrigerator and a beer cooler underneath it, and coated the inside with **** carpet like this.

Installed heart-shaped side windows, a skylight and chrome side pipes- he got paid Fridays and we spent Saturdays working on that damn van. I honestly don't remember what wheels he put on it but I think they were cheap aluminum slots.

Naturally being orange, it got named "The Great Pumpkin". And more than a few of us made romantic history on that bed platform with its 4" foam mattress.

My old man still has his Club Wagon. He wants it gone, so I get it.

I bought a new Dodge Tradesman 100 van in 1974. Blue, 318 automatic, pwr brakes/steering, and cruise control, chrome bumpers. There was an aftermarket a/c system that required cutting out the middle of the dash to install. I had this done, then the Pioneer stereo fit in to the a/c housing. It looked very cool and worked great. I put ET slots with Goodyear polyglas tires, and side pipes. I installed port hole windows in the back sides, I copied "Good Times Vans" interior called "Tunnel Of Love", and that it was. The bed was built over the rear wheel wells with storage and house stereo speakers under. Fridge, and totally carpeted with a blue and white ****. It was a great van. Me my gf, brother, sister, sister in law, and best friend went to an out door concert in Atoka Oklahoma in 74 or 75 not sure which, man that was too much fun. A good time was had by all! Me and my gf did give those rear springs a work out on a regular basis in that tunnel of love!
I was a long haired Hippie kind of guy too.
