Trunk cover!

My wife does a lot of hobby sewing and quilting so I asked if she had any thing around I could make a truck mat out of for the 71 cutlass, a couple hours later she gave me this cover, should keep the road noise down. Not stock, but the car is one to just drive and enjoy.

That is really a good idea. What kind of material of fabric did she use, quilted cotton?

It is a material like a Canvas Duck (Carhart Material) it has a middle lining of polyester and the back is like a nylon material. I dont think it will hold moisture and should be washable. I hope to have a Olds rocket design sewn into it this winter. DHOFF

That's really nice! she did a very good job - I like it! It will look really cool with a Rocket emblem. She could have started a new business, here!

How about I send you my old under-hood mat?

It looks real good.

There was a lot of muttering going on during the building of this one and I was lucky that she did it. Someone with a big industrial type sewing machine could probably make them easily. Her expertise is with a long arm quilting machine doing fancy designs. Also Jamesbro she said you could sew buttons on a balloon and get a big bang out of it.LOL

I like that a lot! My wife does some of that stuff too as a hobby, I might see if I can convince her to do something like that for my Cutlass

If you could get your wife to sew handles on the sides, you could use it as a carry-all when you go grocery shopping...

Burn baby burn.

I need one of those mats for the back of the Vista, can it be made into a sleeping bag for car shows?

Who's Jamesbro?

Is that your blood bro' Jamesbo?, or is he a brother from another mother?

"Larry, Jamesbo and his other brother Jamesbo".

See post above, it is quilted canvas duck, with a polyester lining and a nylon fabric backing. Should be washable She got the fabric at a surplus place in Altoona, PA, pretty neat place surplus tools, paint, hardware on one side of the building, fabric, crafts, etc on the other side, kind of somethig for everyone.

I have 4 new B F Goodrich, should have got 5. S I will order one more. I did clean the back side off. I don't think I'll be needing that wintertread anymore. I think a custom quilted cover for that spare is in order, with a big rocket in the middle.
