If I would have stole when I was a kid my Dad would have given me a *** kicking.
There were kids that did not have parents that felt the same way and they got in to trouble.
They were young and stupid, they grew out of there stupid years and are now stand up grown ups
Is it right that they stole and caused damage NO
But to think of someone being killed because they were stupid and stole goes against one of the commandments thou shalt not kill.
To protect life in self defense that is Just.
It is very easy to take some one's life unwillingly or cause permanent brain damage in a fight by not knowing when to stop, its a matter of a split second that can change ones life forever.

The Commandment is more accurately translated as Thou Shalt Not Murder, and this is backed up by other laws in the Old Testament. Murder is the unlawful killing of someone. God did not intend for us to be helpless in the face of our enemies; if someone is going to harm you or yours, you have the legal and Christian right to keep him from doing so.

I don't think people should be killed for thievery; I think they should be permanently maimed. You steal something and run, maybe a badly broken knee will remind you, every time you move, what a dumbass you are.

This kind of like the situation in Missouri and NYC. If they weren't breaking the law, they wouldn't be dead.

If you are in law enforcement and can not take down a suspect that does not have a gun, and you shoot that suspect its time you find a new career.
Cops have to be intelligent and have a presence about them, they should be able to handle them self's in a one on one conflict with out the use of there gun.
We have law enforcement officers in Canada that are useless, they have killed un- armed individuals.
They shot a teenager with a knife on a bus this was more like a execution, another they tasered to death that had a stapler at the air port. A kid was just drinking beer in a park and was shot for it.

If you are not intelligent/have the ability to talk down or d-escalate a situation, nor cape-able to handle yourself in one on one combat with a suspect with out the use of a gun you have no business in law enforcement.

They are cowards/ bubble gum cops, I prefer to call them pussies

Well, sort of. I saw a video of two woman cops in The Hood, and they could not take down a man, who just got up and ran off. There's something called disparity of force.

I'm a big guy. No one would dream of starting crap with me outside of an equally big guy, or a martial artist, or a more heavily armed individual. If I were being improper, I would expect that a police person, smaller than me, would have the right to use whatever they needed to to stop me from injuring them. Mike Brown was a lot bigger than Wilson, he had disparity of force because the evidence shows he was trying to beat up Wilson. Now the other guy selling the cigarettes, that was just plain police brutality, in my opinion.

Short version: not all cops are huge dudes, what do the little guys and women due against big guys?

Back when sanity ruled, they had this thing called minimum standard that people in that position had to attain. Had to be a minimum height, able to lift a minimum weight, run a minimum speed and distance. Back then .. a cop was fairly certain he was going to come out on top in any one-on-one thanks to their high level of training with their nightstick.

Today, equality rules. Can't refuse to pay a 5' 110lbs woman as a beat cop no matter how ineffectual she might be. That would be discriminatory.

What do the little guys and women do? Simple ... don't be frikken cops in the first place.

Well said

I don't care how big or small a cop is or there color or sex, but they have to be able to control a suspect bigger or smaller with out harming that person/ with out lethal force.
If for some reason they do not have the size, strength, skills, intellect to do so they are a danger to the public and them self's.
They cause death, pain, and friction in society with there incompetence!
They also put there piers and trade in disrepute.
I have lost a lot of respect for the RCMP a once very moral and distinguished law enforcement unit .

Sorry if I might offend some. Here's my take, there are 2 words people need to learn when being addressed by a police officer. Yes sir/ma'am. The police deserve the respect of the public, if anyone feels they can change the world with their rainbow and butterfly ideals, then I suggest putting your body where your mouth is and become a cop. Until you have walked in their shoes you have no idea what you speak of.

Do police make poor judgements sometimes, certainly. Are their people that have no business in law enforcement, absolutly, just as in any career field. However, the majority of people in that field are great people and I applaud their efforts in trying to do a job where the cards are stacked against them and it's getting worse everyday.

If you choose to break the law, you put yourself at risk. If you choose not follow an officer's orders, you put yourself at risk. If you choose to disrespect an officer, you put yourself at risk. Law enforcement officers are not perfect as they are humans, just like you and me and they do make mistakes. The frustration and fear that they experience every day must sometimes be overwhelming. Your actions in any situation will influence an officer's reactions. Try to do the right thing.

Real simple: comply with the Police, makes everybody's day much better. I'm quite sure on the two occasions 35-40 years ago when eluding a cop after blowing off someone in a race, that I would have had my *** handed to me, and deservedly so, had they caught me. Oh, and the time that we were pulled over in my bud's '68 Z/28 with the improper tags, and me with a twelve pack at my feet, I complied and was spread eagle on the hood of the car, while the cop tried to figure out if the car was stolen...it wasn't.

I never said being a cop was easy but the standards have dropped.
I due respect cops and treat them with respect, I used to have my coffee break with them some times 10-100 I think the code was. As well as worked with guys that went on to be cops. I new one that was a high ranking officer as well.
I'm not a cop hater but one that thinks the poor cops should hit the road and find a new carrier there is no room for sub standard cops.I'm for equal requirements for all cops and more d-escalation training and one on one hand combat skill requirement.
