Started my Harley tonight

Started my Sportster tonight, it's been sleeping for 6 months and it started right up.
Was thinking about selling it but you just can't put your leathers on and be a bad *** in an Oldsmobile.

I will fire my old girl up when it gets warmer. A few days from now I hope. 12 degrees low and 33 high. Still too cold for me. It is supposed to get into the 50's later this week. That will be good enough. 1982 FXWG. Always fires right up.

Guess I'm lucky been in the 30's here in the morning and it's going to be almost 60 tomorrow. I love this bike has a 100 hand made parts and it makes almost 90HP from 74 ci and it only weighs about 690 LBS with me on it. It hauls ***!

I understand the feelings exactly!
Nothing beats the freedom of a good motorcycle. Even my vert cannot match it, except for when it rains maybe...
I try to get on mine at least once a month, no matter what.
I plan to get on my Sporty and head on up to the HD dealer this weekend for some maintenance fluids and stuff - time to get it ready for routine riding to distant lands.
I only wish I had better close places to ride - city slogging and idiot dodging are just not that fun.
Ride safe!

I've got an '89 1200 Sportster in my old man's basement.
Been there about 20 years now.

Whenever I needed to ride, I always picked my '73 BMW, and every now and then when I picked the Harley, after about half an hour of riding I remembered why I hadn't ridden it for a few months: Rough, noisy, lousy ergonomics, couldn't take a turn, and left my hands and my butt numb for half an hour after I'd ride it.
I finally took the hint and put it away, figuring I'd get back to it, but I never did.

Now, it had its plusses: It was the best damn bike to ride s__tfaced drunk you've ever seen - pulled hard in any gear, and was so fast that friends on a streetcorner said they thought something was wrong when I pulled away from them because I disappeared so fast it looked like I just got beamed off the planet.

So, I'll be dusting off the old BMW in the Spring and enjoying waving to Harley riders who somehow lost their mufflers and who won't wave back to me.

I'm going to miss CA for the year round riding season. I rotate through the 3 bikes to which one has the most gas to ride. I wont miss the Tulare Fog that comes in the winter.

Let me know if you find my muffler. I don't know about the newer BMW's, but the older ones were a pleasure to ride.

Ha! They seem to have fallen off of so many bikes, it's a wonder I'm not seeing them everywhere!

Yeah, I like my old bike - starts on one kick, handles well, goes as fast as I need it to (I've done 106 - that's plenty), and weighs 465 pounds.

Built it myself out of parts, too.

I think I'll keep it.
