I'll say a prayer for her, but are you sure? Most guys would have prayers going the other way for their mother in law lol! Seriously, I hope she does just fine and I'm sure she will. She'll be around for a while longer I'm sure

My prayers are with her. I hope your mother in law is like mine. She is very easy to get along with and a joy to be around. I got lucky I guess.

I will pray for the surgeon's skill and your mother in law's speedy and complete recovery.

My son had open heart surgery two years ago...it is amazing the technology these days.

My uncle went through the same, 7 by-passes, three weeks ago. I didn't realize that was possible. He's recovering quickly and is up and about again.

I am glad to hear your mother-in-law is doing well. I would expect she will be up and about soon as well.
God Bless!

latest update on Traven.

Traven is back off the ECMO (bypass). Surgery went well. They are keeping him on the paralytic drugs for 12-24 hours. After that they will be able to evaluate him.
Praying for strength and no damage to brain or organs.
This little guy really deserves a break.

Traven is back to EEG monitor for any seizure activity because of spikes in blood pressure. checking for pulmonary hypertension tomorrow, off paralytic & moving all extremeties, opening eyes & pupils dilate equally. If blood pressure under control will start tube feeding again. Hope they do cause it's sure part of his /Crankiness.
Cath lab is up in the air right now. It could cause the clots he has (two) to move or create more. Plus if they use the point of entry they may ruin it if he has to have another surgery. So they'll discuss it with the dr. in charge of the lab and weigh the benefits vs downfalls and make a decision on whether or not to send him. But if the clot was the med problem then we've actually made some headway because his gases and lactate are good and they can start weaning him off the vent. They can do scans but the cath would measure the pressures. Andy said if his BP normalizes then chances are he doesn't have hypertension because it doesn't go away. He said possibly a clot caused his crash but there isn't a for sure way to know that one. But right now his heart rate and BP are good."
