RIP Sir Stephen Hawking.
We have lost one of the finest minds the worlds of physics and astronomy have ever known.
Despite being crippled by motor neurone disease he made huge strides in our understanding how the universe works.
And he also managed to live some 50 years beyond how long he was given to live when his illness was diagnosed.
The world in general and the world of science in particular is a lesser place for his loss.
