RIP Jim Walkinshaw
Just got word that Oldsmobile retiree Jim Walkinshaw passed this weekend. For those unfamiliar, he co-authored "Setting The Pace" and "Oldsmobile: The War Years" with Helen Earley and with her was one of the preeminent Oldsmobile historians.
I'm not often awestruck, but I was when I had the opportunity to spend a little time with Jim and Helen at the Centennial. I knew I was in the presence of giants.

I thought I had a pic of Jim and I the same day this was taken, but it was not in that group.
But anyway this was taken due to the first production body style and the last new body. Jim was nice enough to take the time for me to snap some photos
of his curved dash and my bravada.

Sorry I am late reading this thread. I had a chance to met Jim, back in the summer of 2002. Both Jim and Helen singed some of my Oldsmobile books, that they wrote. Very nice man, so sad to hear of his passing.
