Can anyone actually remember, even before COVID, when the last time the Rangers ballpark was filled to 100% capacity?

Be careful. The corona virus itself will determine whether the title to the thread should start with the word “Pretend”. Texas ranks near the bottom for vaccinations per capita.

Great news!!!!! I am not a ball sports fan but this is great! I hope they let the Indy 500 stands be full.

Good to see someone gets it. Although vaccinations are ramping up, it's still a ways to normal. States opening up are playing a mugs game. J.M.H.O.

I don't think there's any going back. After a year of this, people have had it up to here with mandates, mask-wearing, businesses forced into bankruptcy, and the general heavy hand of government. With vaccinations spreading rapidly and the warmer weather in the near future, this will all be a sad memory very soon. Yes, we'll see more cases here and there as we move forward. We always will. That's what a flu virus does.

Remember, just because the government lifts the mandates doesn't mean that you can't still wear a mask if you want to. No one is stopping you. Wear one every day for the rest of your life if it makes you happy. Put two or three or a half-dozen on your face at one time if you want. Only eat at restaurants that offer outdoor seating if you eat at restaurants at all. Stay away from sporting events. No one is required to attend a baseball game. No one is required to eat at a restaurant. No one is required to attend church services. Have your groceries delivered and never set foot in a grocery store again. Etc. Etc. Etc. It's all your choice, and that's the whole point. It's your choice.

Totalitarian tendencies die hard. It's high time for the lifting of the heavy hand of government.

A very good point, and an entirely different issue. We'll have to start wondering now if the reason the stadium is only one-quarter full is because of the virus or if it's because of an older problem...no one here can play this game! (to sort-of quote Casey Stengel).
