Rip, seems we are all starting to get up there in age. We were kids watching other kids on tv.

 

I was just about to post the same tribute. The Rifleman was one the best beginnings ever to a TV show. Rest in Peace Mark.

 

RIP Mark... Definitely one of my favorite shows in years past...

 

Interesting tidbit about "The Rifleman" from Wikipedia:

The program was titled to reflect McCain's use of a Winchester Model 1892 rifle, customized to allow repeated firing by cycling its lever action (an anachronism, because the model was not manufactured until after the period of the show's setting).

The show aired for five seasons, 1958 to 1963. Johnny Crawford was born in 1946, so he was 12 years old when the show started and 17 when it ended.

 

He was a talented musician and actor struck down with Alzheimer’s disease for some time:

My girl grew up in Southern California. She grew up around so many people. She had a crush on Jimmy Crawford. He was older than her. She went to an event he was at and hung out with him. She said he was a super nice guy. Very polite and gentlemanly. She was the one that told me early this morning.
