A young woman during WW 2 and then on to Queen. Well liked and loved. She will be extremely missed during the years coming. Rest in Peace Queen Elizebeth the second.

I'd heard she was in medically guarded condition yesterday afternoon & again this morning (via NPR/BBC).

A true matriarch. RIP Queen Elizabeth...

The only sound fabric of the royal family has passed and it’s sad to have her gone. Class and grace that few could dream of.

Her coronation was the first transatlantic television transmission. I looked at every minute of it--it was so organized and scripted that I wondered how they did it without rehearsal.

And where did they store all those wagons and well-trained horses?

The money involved astounded me even as a child.

😪 RIP Her Majesty the Queen.

Elizabeth Windsor was one of us. She trained as a mechanic in WW2 and was known to enjoy sneaking out and driving herself around London and especially in Scotland when at Balmoral, as long as she was able.

Yeah, dammit, I'm heartbroken. I've admired her my entire life.

God save the Queen will not be sung again for many years.

Prince Charles, now king, is 73 years old. I'm not thinking that he will rule for maybe 20 years unless he inherited his mother's gene's.

RIP, she was everything positive that I could imagine royalty to be.

Better days, the Queen meeting Marilyn. October 29, 1956 both were 30 years old.

Well Philip was no slouch on age at 99. On the other hand, didn't Elizabeth's father die at a relatively young age?

I can't imagine ascending to the throne is anything more than bittersweet. Yay I'm the king. Oh **** my parent has died.

Of anyone "famous" I always wanted to meet the Queen. I'll bet she was charming and very down to earth.

Yeah, it will mean new money in Canada, being a Commonwealth country. I have too much Irish and Scottish ancestry to care much about the Monarchy. We actually sung God save the Queen in grade school.

Now the UK & some of the Commonwealth countries will need to change the money, the anthem, some flags, etc. She was classy, but now the Queen is dead; long live the King. Her son will have to strive to catch up to his mother.

Soon-to-be King Charles III will obligingly do whatever the lovely Camilla tells him to do.
