Prices of bumpers on ebay

Hi All
I still dabble on ebay. Even though sometimes the search option will give me a thousand things not related to what I'm searching for. I decided to put the 1964 Cutlass front bumper core on there. I'm not really sure what they are going for so I tried a search. I found 4 that were replated and priced $2,500-3,000. No cores, but I found a couple 1967 cores at just under $500 each. I found a 1965 core for $1,000. Did the world change on me while I was sleeping? Have the prices on years not being reproduced really gone through the roof like that? I couldn't find any that had sold to see what sale prices were. Just the asking prices.

I think those prices are VERY high.
BUT, speaking for 65, nicely plated bumpers are going for 1500 easy, with fronts earning a bit more than rears.
But a decent core should cost you no more than 300-400 IF I was in charge.

At those prices, doubt ANY would be selling. And then there's freight on top of that price. Dreamers. Maybe a nibble - from a bottom feeder - once a decade.

Keep in mind, many places are changing $2000 - $2500 to rechrome a bumper, so the 4 bumpers you found finished are not really priced too crazy if they have beed replated.
