Packard making a comeback??
I could get used to the style.
My Dad enjoyed owning Packards until he bought a new 52 Chevy in Manilla. When we returned stateside he bought his last new Packard in '54. Seeing Packard was shutting down next new car was a 56 BelAir followed by eleven more full size Chevrolets.

Thats ugly, there's in old town Grass Valley Ca an old Packard dealer building that now is a carpet co.Packard carpet, they still have an old Packard sign hanging on the building right in the heart of 1850s gold rush history.Nick
It actually looks poorly designed. One does not use aluminum, or even steel,
for that matter, square tubing for chassis design. I am not impressed by a
person with a bachelors engineering degree with "most of his experience is
ownership." Nice 80s GM cruise control stick, too.
The only thing that car has going for it is name, and that's only because they
bought it. It will be extremely difficult for a new startup car company to run in
this country; the stakes are simply too high to compete with established companies.
The last startup company to make cars was Tesla, and they are still marginal
because they haven't transitioned to mass production yet, and they have had
massive quality problems on the attempts they have made at mass production.
Tesla does have a good niche market, so I have high hopes for them, but this
new Packard is just some guy's sentimental dream at the moment.

I see a lot of potential in reviving the Packard name. I also see a lot of potential for improvement of their product. The concept and the powertrain are very nice, just needs to have a bit more personality, character, and old style charm. Some Packards of the late 40's and early 50's were not very pretty, for some reason that styling was incorporated into this one.
