This is not Political -- Go VOTE

I don't care whether you're charged up or disgusted, and I don't care which candidates you support (well, I do, but that would be political), make sure you make the time to go vote today.

If you don't feel good about anybody at the top level, then still go vote for your State Representative and a few lower court judges.

We're [almost] all Americans here, and our nation is based on the idea that we make our voices heard in the voting booth - don't let the other guy's voice be louder than yours.

(Also, sometimes at the polling place, they have milk and cookies ).

I take my right to vote very seriously and I always have. If you don't vote, you don't have a say. Everybody I have talked to that has already voted as I already have said they have never seen it so crowded. Not sure who that favors but I have a hunch.

The wifey and I voted absentee. I like voting this way, don't feel rushed like at the booth. The USPS delivered the ballots so I am hoping the Election Bureau counts the votes correctly. As the wifey said "after today we will be done hearing political commercials."

World wide a lot of people died for the right to vote in their country and others' country. People are still dying around the world for that right. When I get disgusted with politicians, I think of this and cast my vote, even if only for the politician I am least disgusted with.

Personally, i will be glad when you lot have elected either dumb or dumber. Too much news coverage this side of the pond.
It does make me laugh when all of the so called stars come out with their choice- who cares?
I think the person who should get in is, none of the above.

I voted early this year, so I am done. I feel sorry for my son it is his first election, he should have had someone better to vote for. I will go home and have a drink or five tonight.

Just so you all know, the reflexive "let's not talk politics" like said in bold face in the heading of this section is precisely why we are in this mess. People don't talk anymore, they just hate at each other. I am very afraid we are going to end up in a shooting war over this, or soon hereafter. This is why the Civil War happened, people quit talking and started shooting.

Koda you are a wise man, perhaps you should be in the running in four years time to help rebuild the mess this generation will leave.

Vote, it is a hard won right, it results in democracy (of a sort, anyway). An appalling way to run a country, until you consider the alternatives.

Koda has a point. Y'all need to talk this out, because the candidates don't seem like they can communicate.

I voted. First time I've taken advantage of that right.

EDIT: Roger, nice quote.

This is the first election that I have ever actually voted against a candidate. You can probably guess who I voted against but I won't say. If you don't vote, keep your mouth shut for the next four years. Thanks for starting this thread Eric.

There may be just a wee bit more to the Civil War than not talking.......

Held my nose and voted about an hour ago. Got there just in time to beat the after-work rush. Voted in every Pres election since 1976 and this was the first time neither major party had a candidate I felt comfortable voting for.

Voted on my 49th bday

My 49th birthday today and as an IL state worker they gave us the whole day off to vote. I just shake my head. We went without a state budget for an entire year and our former governor is in prison. Still, we are blessed that we have the right to vote and I did so. Still trying to process that in a country of 300 million these two candidates are the best we could do. I keep trusting that God is in control.

P.S. Saw Dr. Strange today. Good flick.

Started long before the Civil War. Remember the document we are so proud of today was forged out of the Revolutionary War. The Brits were the government and the right to bare arms was a check and balance from the government we were about to establish, it is a safety net against ourselves.... And vote if you haven't already done so..... Tedd

Voted 6 AM was about the 50th person in which shows the turn out. The last few elections I voted for the less of 2 evils. This time I voted for who would do the less evil. We need to stop giving this country and jobs away. Not apposed to trade with the rest of the world but we should have some sense of self reliance. And the right to bear arms was a major factor Tedd.

Went to vote this morning but line too long to wait in - my wife had a doctor's appointment. Went back late in the afternoon and the line was much shorter. Did my civic duty - held my nose, and voted. Hopefully the current Senate majority party does not change, but we get a different party in the White House. Always vote with one eye on the Supreme Court.

Interesting. Not taking any sides, but as long as US President Campaign have been going, for some not-known reason Finnish main-stream presses have been constantly bashing Trump, and been quiet about Clinton's doings.
Weve been wondering at work with friends that what motive our main-presses have to constantly bash Trump.

Until the very last moment until declaring Trump to winner, main thing from presses to release here seemed to be releasing pictures of crying Clinton's voters.
Now when its official, our presses turned their jacket 100% and are everyone congratulating Trump. Weird..

But congratulations of getting it to the end.

Wow - Didn't expect that!!

I honestly hope that it works out ok for you guys and see if you can put the pride back into the US. This is your very own version of Brexit but I'm not quite sure what to call it.
I hope we can do lots of trade deals together as we have hardly any of your cars on our roads and it would be great to buy some US modern muscle with the steering wheel on the proper side!!

Just let it go and continue on with Oldsmobile talk we need you here Pogo69!!!
One of my posts were deleted for congratulating the winner as well so don't feel as though your the only one.
