No camera, no phone

While setting up at the car show in Chico yesterday ( I got there early, limited shade at this show) I found a nice place amongst the trees next to a friend with a neat stock 70 Chevy PU. After settling in here comes the rarest car of the show and nestles up against the Mistress .No phone or camera. It's the #21 Tucker and it's still a driver. I would have loved to have a photo of the Mistress and the Tucker rubbing fenders to go along with the her and the Cord I got this winter,if I had any luck at all it would have to be bad luck.

Gene the owner spent the whole day showing the different as specks of the car and was very knowledgeable on any part you would want to discuss, this made for a very interesting show.He is quite a collector and loves Oldsmobiles plus he's in the middle of a restoration on his mothers 56 Olds holiday so we had a little in common. Good thing because I know nothing about Tuckers. I have pictures of his car from last year but nothing that would have been as good as if I could have had the Mistress snuggled up against that million dollar plus car......Tedd

Wow, that's too cool Ted, man I wish you had a camera. The only places I see them is in museums.

I saw one in captivity once, but I've never had the pleasure of seeing one in the wild!

Tedd, that is too bad. I have seen two Tuckers in my life and they were both in museums. One was in the Henry Ford Museum and I believe that one was Preston Tucker's personal car. The other was in the Peterson Museum. That is nothing compared to being parked next to one and actually hearing it run and seeing it being driven.

Still trying to post a picture. This was the same car in Durham Ca.

The story goes that the original owner who was a Tucker dealer would only sell the car if Gene would show the car so many people could see it at local shows, so far he has keep his word....Tedd

Am I crazy or do I remember the Tucker's not being worth much of a premium about 25 years ago - have they skyrocketed or have they always demanded a premium. I believe only around 51 were made so I'm guessing they were always worth something.
