James - Given my experience I have, in fact, been on many hay rides - some pulled by horses & some by tractor. Yes, the older JD Models have a peculiar sound to them - the Models designated with the single alphabet letter e.g. A, B, G, etc. Your picture brings back memories of us working fields during cutting/baling season. The old fashioned (square) balers were interesting pieces of machinery. We'd generally rotate between driving the tractor &/or stacking bales on the wagon.
My Uncles primarily owned JD equipment, although many owned Ford, M-F & Case. I believe the only piece of farm equipment I never operated was a combine. Good memories, lots of hard work and MANY returnable cases of Holiday beer & Blatz beer stacked inside the various barns.
Here are representative (tricycle) JD tractors I used to drive - two of my Mom's brothers each owned several of these (and a Model G) before they moved up into the numbered series JD tractors.
Thanks Chris, It's pretty special and unique. The idea is to save it [and the old farm house.] It will look like a farm but it will be a cemetery. You won't be able to see [the markers] unless you are close.

Here is the latest 10 hour loop since the beginning of the intensification phase last night demonstrating a solid eye wall formation. Now, a major Cat 4 hurricane. This will be devastating with a wall of water (storm surge) expected to be 14' - 18' along the coast of Houma (largest city in Terrebonne Parish). The pressure is currently 28.47" (964 millibars) - that's huge. Hurricane Katrina's lowest central pressure was 27.17" (920 millibars) which was unprecedented. Hurricane Sandy was 27.94" (946 millibars). Normal atm pressure = 29.92" (1013 millibars); or, 14.7"Hg @ 1 atm pressure. It will be interesting to see what the final atm pressure of Ida will be when it makes landfall. While atm pressure alone does not produce the storm surge, the atm pressure determines the energy inherent in the eye wall which pushes the water on shore. I'd love to follow the buoy markers along the coast (in real time), but I have a fence to build. I usually monitor buoy markers for barometric pressure when hurricanes approach land. You can zoom-in on this view in case anyone is interested in real time live buoy data.
Overcast today and not quite as hot, so far. Gonna do some packing and moving today. If it doesn't rain I might do some mowing.
Good job on the win Chris. My favorite out of that group of pictures is the Duster.
Kenneth I hope your family fares well. The storm will all but miss my family in the panhandle which I'm happy for. Last time they were right in line and my Mom said, oh we'll be okay. Turns out they were but I would have bugged out for sure.
Jamesbo farm life sounds like fun but I'm a city boy through and through. I have a tractor with a front end loader but I think it is far too small for what you want. John Deere's home base is in the town where I'm originally from. My Granddad was a foreman for International Harvester Farmall in Moline, and his best friend was foreman for Farmall in East Moline. Better Half has been in da hills all summer, and John has been going back and forth. I don't know when she's going back. I dare say after the storm passes.
Okay gotta get going. Hope everyone has a great day.

James - That is a wonderful.sentiment! Many kudos to you.
Here's some pics of the show I went to today. I was fortunate to place again. Hope you enjoy them, I tied to only take pics.of.cars.you haven't seen before.
That Corvette simply requires more ***** to operate than I have. And a spotter to make right hand turns to see around the 3 foot stack of chromed fuel/air delivery systems.

John - You have no idea! I talked with the owner quite awhile, it's a fresh build, and the owner is still trying to get the car tuned to the point where it is even street reliable. He said he had a hard time even getting it there. He's having a helluva time just getting it to idle and take off from a dead stop. It either stumbles and dies, or fries the tires. I didn't take a pic from the back, but I should have, it has wheelie bars on the back. Although it is street legal, he does intend to take it to the strip after he gets it tuned correctly. I think it has 562ci, and with that supercharger he's thinking it should put out +800 HP when he gets it on a Dyno.
Chris congrats on 1st yesterday and placing today that is really cool. Thanks for sharing the photos of the great cars. I am a fan of that 58 GMC stock looking pick up. The hot rod with the splash style flame graphics also very cool.

Otto - Thank you! You're very welcome for the pics, glad you enjoyed them. You're spot on about that '58 GMC, it was by far my favorite truck there.
There were some really nice cars and trucks there. The Corvette is just stupid. That is just a damn race car he is trying to drive on the street. Stupid is as stupid does. Congrats on the win.

Thanks Glenn, really glad you enjoyed the pictures!
Thanks for all the pictures. So many to comment on. I love the purple 55. That big red Ford looks super nice too. Love the GMC as well. Hell they all look nice. Thanks again for posting.

no1oldsfan - You're welcome for the pics. Both were great shows, with alot of really nice cars. I had a blast at both, despite the brutal heat, it was +95 each day.
Nice Valiant , owned a -71 a couple of years with the 225 slant six and i liked this car a lot , my brother had an -69 Dart
also with a 225 engine.

Glen - Thanks. I agree, the camera on my new phone does take great pics. Your pics of the tractor remind me of the winters in Michigan where I grew up! Way to cold, and way too much snow for me anymore, but you can't beat the late spring thru early fall.
Little more tractors , there are a big event i Norway every 2 years ( stopped by Covid now )
and there are very much different things too se These pics are from 2016.
Rain just blew through, didn't last long. Cooled off a little. Good day at work, I had an excellent wall guy and we finished up our work, but others were not so forthwith, and the lead asked for people to stay over. I went in early, I wasn't staying.
Glenn those are some good tractor pictures. Nice to see something different for a change. I did spy a 70 Cutlass Supreme behind a blue tractor. Was the guy in the first picture in the witness protection program?
If I remember right Lamborghini started building cars when Enzo Ferrari blew him off when he complained about the new Ferrari he just bought. Enzo said, if you can do better, go ahead. That last part might be a myth but it sounds good.
Yesterday on the way back from Walmart the AC belt on the truck shredded itself and slung off. So now no AC in the truck. What is it with me and bad AC? This happens about once a year. Not sure what the problem is, something to do with the compressor pulley I would imagine.
I was going through some old magazines the other day and came across some rather old ones I had never read. Still in the cellophane. One was Grassroots Motorsports from December 09. So far not a terrific read but in one of the articles the author was recounting his trip through magazinedom and was saying how the new digital world was really helping out the print world. He also said he didn't know if electronic would ever replace the printed word. Funny reading twelve year old articles, now knowing that most magazines have gone the way of the dodo bird.
Since we got a bit of rain there's no doing anything outside, so I will continue with my sorting, cleaning, weeding, tossing, packing. I ought to go swap out the truck for the dogmobile. No use in having no air conditioning AND bad fuel economy.
Norm you may be on to something. Instead of coveting yours, which isn't getting me anywhere, I could make my own. And a root beer float. And some shrimp.
Rain. Came up all of a sudden. Water is trickling into the basement but not enough to hear it running through the walls. It has not been lost on me that if I wouldn't have spent these last years chasing wrecked Valiants, I'd have had the money to fix this place up.
Early again tomorrow. I'll probably do early all week and then Saturday. Long weekend coming up. I'd just as soon work and then save the day for another time, but the shop takes off. Gee, twist my arm to not go there. It will be a good weekend for a moving blitz.
Okay gonna hit the sack here in a minute. Forward Tuesday. Have a good evening everyone.
Good evening guys,
It's been storming here most of the day, and is supposed to continue through the evening and throughout most of tomorrow. There's a flash flood warning for our county and most of the surrounding counties. I would say that's just fine except for Monty's fear of storms. We knew it was coming and gave him a sedative before it got here so he's doing ok. I was perfectly content to be inside all day out of the blazing heat and dripping humidity that I endured both days over the weekend.
I have my annual physical on Thursday. It will be a new experience in that I'll have a new doctor for the 1st time in 38-years, because my regular doctor retired. I'll give the new guy a fair shake, but it will be hard for him to measure up to the quality of service I got from my last one, who after 38-years was much more than just my doctor, he was a close friend.
Well I hope everyone has had a nice day. I can't help but wonder if Greg's having a nice time in Maine? Let's all say a prayer tonight for all those poor folks in the Gulf, my heart really goes out to them!
Like a cow on a flat rock, but comes in then leaves. Norm may know the technical term but I'll call it the fingers of the storm as it begins to break up [further away]
Glenn - That's a nice shakedown of tractors. Whenever I have the time I enjoy attending farm auctions. I love farming tractors. That Fordson is a real novelty. There's a rich history regarding production of the Fordson farm tractor in the U.S.A., Great Britain & Ireland. I wonder what year that Fordson was manufactured & whether it actually runs.

Yes Norm , also enjoy tractors and there are a lot of them in the neighborhood here. Hopefully this event can be done
next year 2022 , but the Covid has done that almost everything are canceled. All vehicles usually drives around
the "horse race track" so the people watching could se and feel the smell of the old vehicles. Hope to se this next year .
Glenn we have an event here in Sauk Co. WI called Badger Steam and Gas Show in August. In the spring a swap meet also. Thanks for sharing the albums very cool. Her is a vid someone took this year at the show.
