James, thanks. I believe you're the only person I know who owns a set of the Ping Beryllium Copper Irons - Ping Eye 2 - I believe? Did you buy those new or pick them up used? Do you ever play w/ them?

Hi everyone.

Quite the full day. Cleaned carpet all day. Got the machine at the grocery store and the bottle of shampoo was almost the same amount as the rental. Well, it was Publix, where Shopping Makes You Go Broke. Still, got done for under 60 bucks, I thought it would be more. I am now ready for new base board and trim in the bedroom and to move the furniture back in.

Been cold and rainy here all day. Got the stove going this evening and it's toasty warm in here.

Jamesbo that sammich looks yummy. Never liked a Rueben, I don't like sour kraut. And I never liked that guy on The Partridge Family named Rueben.

Norm I would have hiked that control arm over to work and blasted it in the aluminum oxide blaster. I can go back and use that machine again, the gloves had holes blown in them but now I see they've been replaced.

Gonna get everything ready to go tonight, so we can leave at O'Dark Thirty in the morning. I wonder if I'll get better gas mileage with the new tires. Better compounds, less rolling resistance, better tread...

Tiger is already in bed, I won't be far behind. I worked hard today, I'd have worked less if I were at work. Well, have a good evening everyone.

Mike, I pulled up 50 year old 100% wool carpet from the floors of my home when I purchased it. It had to have been expensive back in the day. Underneath was 3.5" wide center-cut yellow pine tongue & groove boards. I refinished all the floors - love 'em. It is a great feeling to have fresh clean carpet I know that from having cleaned carpet many times myself.

What I wouldn't give to have an Al2O3 blaster baby, or a glass-bead blaster, or a sand blasting cabinet. That would be the chiznitz!

Like a cow on a flat rock down ere

Norm, I started with good ole Ping eye 2, Then went with Henry Griffith's [that I hated] Then I axed the Ping rep to find me some copper ones. He said, "The EPA won't allow them to make them any more so You'll never find any"

It's kinda like driving a 69 442 drop top. I like being different

That was like waving a red cape in front of a bull to me/ Eventually I found a full set [with lob and gap wedge [actually not a true "Gap" but 2 S wedges with different lofts]] and it's all I ever play with. I use Ping more modern woods. 9 Degree driver

BTW, I read that Dechambeau is using a 4.8 degree driver. Maybe I should give one of them a whirl

Here's an article That no one but you will appreciate http://blog.2ndswing.info/pings-bery...ecu-isi-irons/

What about you Norm, What is your choice of sticks?

Mike, A true redneck would take the old carpet out to the shop [hanger] and lay it down to keep the weeds from growing

Headed norte

Have a great weekend Olds friends

James, I haven't read your URL on the BeCu Ping Eye 2 but I will shortly. Dechambeau uses a 4.8 degree driver? Honestly, I think that's stupid, but I'm not a card-carrying member of the PGA Tour.

My Big Stick remains a TaylorMade Burner Driver 10.5, my three wood remains a TaylorMade Burner 9.5, my irons remain Callaway X-20 (3 through 9), Cleveland CBX Steel Wedge 56/12, Cleveland RTX-3 Blade (Approach) Wedge, TourEdge 63 Lob Wedge (I'm a sick BA$TARD but I love this club), Odyssey White Hot RX (blade) Putter (or some named ****). All-in-all I play very standard clubs.

Woo Hoo...upper & lower ball joints, UCA & LCA bushings have arrived.

James - When my tempo is off (downswing far too fast) on the 3 wood, it's a tough bugger for me to control - like slicing a warm apple pie.

Removed the front & rear bushings & ball joint from the LH front LCA today. Soaked the LCA in NaOH & did x2 cleanings w/ a wire brush. Began the wire wheel & pumice wheel cleaning of the LCA. Found a crack & gouge on the edge of the exterior lip of the front bushing bore hole. It definitely is not compromising the integrity of the control arm (it's about 1/8" H x 1/4" L) and I don't believe it will adversely affect the new bushing sleeve and rubber - appears there's plenty of solid metal & with the bushing steel sleeve inserted into the bore it should be find. It looks like someone before me either replaced this bushing and had a hard time of it (banging up the bore hole) or the LH front of the vehicle was involved in an altercation with something.

I spent some time in my make-shift paint booth applying a 3M undercoat product to the RH LCA (from Post 29325 above).

I'm so hungry I could eat the North end of a Southbound mule.

Hi everyone.

Got home a little while ago from the panhandle. Had a nice trip. Didn't get much done(and it was nice weather the whole time) but had a nice visit with my Mom really enjoyed it. Got to see my sister and the one niece and her family as well.

I used to have golf clubs. I think I used them once. They belonged to my Dad, I think he used them once. I kept them around because it was a novelty having left handed clubs. When I moved they went away. No idea what brand they were.

Now that all my traveling is done for awhile I need to wind up my projects. There's more waiting. I'll review the plan this week.

Well have a good evening everyone and a good week ahead.

Hi, guys. Still working on the old truck. Bought a bunch of sanding stuff at Harbor Freight. Week or 2 ago bought a orbital disc sander and some sandpaper discs- bought the stick on type as that is what we used to use at work. The stick on discs would fly right off so I returned them. While I was there I bought a little belt type sander and some fittings, a suction cup deally for when I change the rear window and windshield. Meanwhile I bought some 3M sanding discs for the orbital sander off ebay. Went to use the orbital sander yesterday with the good 3M sandpaper and the whole disc flew off the sander across the shop. It came unthreaded inside.I probably could take it apart and fix it but since it's new I'm going to return it for exchange. Also the extra package of sand paper belts I bought for the belt sander are wrong so I need to exchange them. Not having real good luck with this cheap shtuff this time. I realize you get what you pay for... The reason I buy this shtuff is I only use it for a project and then it sits for years. They crack me up at HF when they ask if you want to buy a 2 year warrantee on a $17.00 tool for $10.00!
--Wife and I started to go to a local gymnasium to walk around it for exercise last week. Her and I are both in bad shape- when you huff and puff after leaning over to tie your shoes- that's pretty bad. We are walking. My buddy walks 2 laps then jogs a lap, repeatedly until he reaches 50 laps. Takes about 21-22 laps for a mile. I walked about 33 laps last time in the time it took my buddy. I think it will help. It is soooo boring, I hope we stay with it. Take care !

James, regarding no paint on the ladders. I have good aim. Tee-time for me 11:00am. I'll give you five strokes. Hit 'em well.
Dan, I had to look up 'passle' - my Mom used to make rum ***** all the time. Delicious.
Mike, glad you had a nice trip to visit your Mom.
Greg, what a nightmare w/ the sanding equipment. Boggles your mind when stuff falls apart doesn't it? LMAO regarding the 2 year warranty for $10 on a $17 item. I have purchased some things from HF but you really have to be selective.

In general, I'm very disappointed regarding hardware stores. I think all of us here recognize/recall/remember the value we found at the old hardware stores where they sold real quality equipment. My all-time favorite hardware store is True Value Hardware. Historically there have been several others, but True Value Hardware has always been my first choice - the rest of them have gone down the $HITTER. Now-a-days, I do most of my research on-line and purchase through Amazon. We have one good True Value Hardware store about one hour from my house. Even some of the stuff they sell @ Home Depot & Lowe's is crapola. I find better quality & value at places like Menard's & some of the home building centers.

Norm, we have one family owned hardware left near me, and it is an ACE store. I don't think that it was always that way, just a known name that they aligned with. They do a decent job on most things, but some of their prices for small hardware and fasteners is near what the big boxes charge. Three bucks for for or five bolts? Remember when you would grab a small paper bag and fill it with the nails or nuts & bolts that you needed?

Hi everyone.

Not a bad day to begin the work week, and we had pizza as well. And the pressure is off, Monday is done.

My Dad's favorite store was Ace Hardware. Actually his favorite store was Gee Lumber, which was a local place. But Ace was his favorite big name. This was before we ever got a Home Depot or the like. We actually never got a Lowes. HD and Builders Square. They didn't last too long. Then Menards, which is really my favorite out of all of them.

Jamesbo where do I get West Indies crab salad? Besides the obvious. Never seen it on a menu, perhaps it is one of Pensacola's best kept secrets? I need to go back to the Coffee Cup. Mom doesn't want to go back. When we were there before our table wobbled and it made her spill her coffee. Well, if you gotta find something...

Greg the best exercise you can do is walking. Or chasing sanding discs across the room.

Nice out, and warm. Don't know what to do. I want to start working on the wall but it will be acapella, because if Tiger goes with me he'll jump in the mud again and I'll yell. I want to get my hair cut, but they're closed on Mondays. I want, I want, I want... I'll get something done.

Okay see ya's.

Sometimes when I finish playing GOLF I want to cold **** this person who comes in and bitches (consistently) about the pace of play (the raggedy old crotch rocket that he is). Today (again) he comes in w/ his loud mouth (his group was playing behind us) and states "...you guys played a five hour round..." I explained to him I know mathematics. I told him we left the 1st tee @ 11:20am and finished @ 4:20pm. I asked him if he knew how to tell time. He promptly shut his pie-hole, drank his beer & left. If all you have to do is bitch when you play the game of GOLF, find a different game to play when you retire (or, at least - don't play with me).

One day a couple years ago this guy (Bobby) comes into the lounge all bent out of shape because he had to wait on folks a couple holes & then started rattling his mouth about this that and the other thing. It wasn't so much what he was saying, but the tone and manner in which he was broadcasting his loud mouth attitude (I was keenly aware and listening). Finally, he stated to the several guys "...are you a bunch of idiots!..." I walked over to him and looked him straight in the eye and asked him "...did you just walk in this club and call these guys a bunch of idiots?..." He said "...no, I asked them if they were a bunch of idiots..." To which I replied "....I heard you verbally insinuate these gentlemen were a bunch of idiots..." We've been on excellent speaking terms going on over one year now. If you don't know how to act your age and treat people with respect at 70 years of age, then find another activity.

Norm, I've got 1 yup cousin, I used to invite him and a few other cousins to play once a year. After 4 years of paying his fare without him ever axing me to play anywhere, I said "Phuque him" haven't seen or spoke to him in 3 years.

Once while he was pondering his naval on 18, we were getting close to 6 hours. I left them and went in the club house for a cold one. I wanted to wrap my 9 iron around his skull

But of course, 'It's a gentleman's game"

James. You scored big time on the cousins. Well played, well played Sir.

I do not throw my clubs in a F'ing hissie fit when I make a poor swing, I don't start screaming vulgarities when I scruff a shot, I don't get pissed off at other people and act like a F'ing two year old when I come up short of the green and then start vindicating myself my telling everyone I'm so much 'better' than that. What is with some of these morons I play with sometimes?

My all-time favorites - in which I "will" stop and wait until the other person has stopped walking around the flag while I'm putting, driving the golf cart up behind me while I'm addressing the ball, start-up a conversation with everyone while I'm on the tee-box, start walking ahead of everyone before the last person has tee'd off; and, the Düsseldorf who thinks he must stand directly behind you about ten feet while you're hitting your shot.

I can often be heard saying "...please don't allow my golf game to interfere with your conversation..."

What do I know...I'm a simple Country Boner.

My favorite is 'Fart Knockers'

The M,W,F group I play w/ are "aged". We're now down to one man only in his 90's (Jack) - we had two but Billy had to give up the game after he dislocated his hip this summer. Jack is 6'3" & thin. I see Jack driving to & from his GF's house during the week many times. Jack is a great guy but can't remember where his ball landed and generally can't find his ball. Today Jack shot a 94 - pretty spanking for a 92 year old. I caught him wavering on his feet today (having to catch himself before he fell). He landed in the sand on 3 or 4 holes. One of the holes he was 6" from the sand, terrible stance to hit the ball - that's where I come in. I walk over before Jack gets there and move his beach ***** back out into the short grass. This game isn't worth breaking a leg to hit a ball.

Hi everyone.

Good, swift day at work. Went and picked up some rolls for a breakfast we're having on Thursday. This is just for our group, not the whole shop.

Rained last night and this morning, and stopped sometime this afternoon. But now it's cold and windy. Got a couple hours before bedtime so I cranked up the stove and it should be toasty warm in here in no time.

Good on you Norm. And he never knew, no dignity lost.

Got my ears lowered on the way to the store this afternoon. Here's a question. Do you tip the barber? Ordinarily I'd say yes, but these two guys are the co-owners, and you don't tip the owner of a place. Sometimes I tip them, sometimes I don't. Today I was going to but the guy(obviously never a bartender) gave me a five and a one as change, and then turned when I went to get another buck out of my wallet. Eh, no pie at the Awful house for him tonight.

Okay got a little while before bed, think I'll read a magazine that's about 12 years old. Hope everyone has a good evening. Hump Day tomorrow. If only.

Mike - I never tipped a barber. My father never tipped his barber. Maybe if you were going to some upscale fashionable high profile styling salon - but a barber, no. I stopped going to a barber ~5 years ago. Instead, I shave my entire head and I have an entire head of hair.

James - I twirl (a golf club), as well.

Dan - We had an old-school hardware store here in this small town, but it closed down. They had the turn-style aluminum bins filled w/ various nails, screws, etc. in which you purchased by weight. When I lived up North most of the (Blain's) Farm & Fleet stores still had nails, screws, fasteners, etc. I'm pretty sure you have F&F stores in MI. I used to be able to purchase the various vaccines from F&F and vaccinate my own dogs. Of course, on any of my mother's brothers farms (my Uncles) you could find small bottle of morphine hanging about in the various cattle barns, as well. Those days are gone. There is one remaining True Hardware store ~1 hr from here which still has the commodities you can purchase by weight.
