Hi everyone.

It's late and I just got back from Savannah. Sans Metropolitan. It wasn't a bad car but it was worn out, rusty, and the seller's idea of what it was worth and mine was quite a ways apart. My sister drove up from Jacksonville and we had dinner, so that was nice.

My Mom has this habit of telling the service writer, just give it a good looking over to make sure everything is okay. She doesn't understand that's an open invitation for them to liberate her of her money.

Jamesbo I think pot roast is one of the greatest inventions of all time.

John I'm staying out of the new car discussion. I'm a little too opinionated and do better arguing religion. Good luck with the hunt.

It's cold right now. Under 50 and if you ask me that's unacceptable. I guess no one asked me. I'm gonna have to get out the sweat shirts for mornings .

Well I still have to put the truck away then I can get to bed. It's been a long day. Savannah isn't a bad drive but eight hours in the car is a bit much no matter how you slice it.

Good night everyone.

Good Sunday Mawnin All

A low of 42* down 'ere, feels good.

Whelp we wound up in Calhoun yesterday at the Paradise Dragstrip's Show & Go. It was almost exactly 180 miles from my doorstep, so we wound up winning the long distance award

Had a blast! Saw my buddy do a wheelie at the big end of the track at over 100 mph with just a blip of the go pedal in his blown FED (Front Engined Dragster)

Saw lots of old friends and met some new ones.

Anywho whar's Sandy? I see her on facebook from time to time. I hope she is all mended up by now.

Got to make some calls today so we'll catch y'all on da flipside

Good morning everyone.

Boy you'd think they were giving something away at the Awful house this morning. Usually it isn't that crowded until church lets out. I got there later than usual so maybe it's just a rush I don't see.

Cold in the house this morning. Right at 40 on the back porch. Sunny and supposed to warm back up this afternoon. That's fine, but it's supposed to be back to 40 tonight. I gotta tell you I don't care for that.

John the Metropolitan has a pull **** under the key that starts the motor. The key switch itself is odd looking and looks like you can "unlock" it and not need the key. I was told not to fiddle with it.

House cleaning today. I think we're gonna go for a ride this afternoon, not anywhere in particular, just because the dogs like to go riding. I bet I can find someplace to go that has ice cream.

Have a good Sunday everyone. It all starts again tomorrow.

Morning everyone.

Spoda be a repeat of yesterday up here. 68* but winds gusting to 30 mph. Still, sounds better than Stockbridge!

Gonna have to go out and vacuum the lawn under the oak tree again. Looks like another 10 lbs of acorns have collected. I took 4 of them and planted them yesterday just to see if they'll sprout in the spring.

The house next door continues with its Reno. All the floors are going with cheap hardwood, and all rooms are being repainted. Wonder how much the work is costing...

De wife dragged home some cinnamon buns with cream cheese frosting yesterday. So far I've resisted but dang they smell good. Probably the one thing that could convert me to eating dessert.

Time for a fresh kuppa ________. Lessee if you can fill in de blank!

Enjoy your day.

Pot roast was a staple around our house when I was growing up, and an end of exams celebration meal for my room mates in college. I'd come back to the apartment and find all of the ingredients on the counter ready for the cook (me).

Snow tires on front drivers...I did a paper route for 18 years, for which you had to be able to GO in snow and be cautious of the loose condition caused by better tires on the front.

I started with new tires on all 4 corners with a couple of different cars and carefully measured the tread depths when rotating. Between rotations there was not very much wear front-to-back so the car stayed balanced.

I too am getting concerned with Sandy's forum silence, and pray that she is OK.

I'm going to end this post with an attempt to post photos from the Jefferson car show, swap, meet & car corral...wish me luck!

Good day of Sol to all.... Congrats on the award, Scot.... and somebody else sure looks proud to be the recipient ;-)

'Twas 48 at the Plantation this morning.... quite bracing! Will get into mid-70s this afternoon with no wet stuff. But "the muggies" are on schedule for a visit back in a day or three.

Anybody who knows anything is opinionated on the subject of cars, Mike... Yo comprendo.

Saints are playing the Bucs this afternoon @ home in the Dome. Iffin' they lose today, things will pretty much come to a standstill in the Crescent City... there'll be calls for blood tomorrow.

Whelpt, lots to do besides the game, so y'all have a great rest o'weekend, Oldsmofriends.

I used to go with just the fronts, but found that all four corners fitted with ice radials made a huge improvement in stopping. The next thing I'll try when my winters are worn down is the new all weather WR3. These are NOT 'all season', they are designed to work as ice radials too.

Well, the pics didn't come through. Try again.

I'm sure Sandy will return when she feels like it. If she's posting on FB a, this site is just a click away. Be patient.

Scot, I like mine with International flavor. You know, blonde and sweet, not like de old GF who was dark and bitter.

John, Ol Sol be smilin on ya my friend. Hope your team wins! Mine didn't yesterday, but it was a squeaker loss 33-32.

Mike, your gas prices are so low it would almost be a crime not to go for a drive. You taking the Stang or the vert?

Allan it will be the dogs and I in the blue van. You know I never did get that front end work done. I guess that's why I've never gone to Florida to get some furniture my Mom is hanging onto for me.

Ah another reason I don't get into a lot of car arguments anymore is because I'm somewhat of a hypocrite, but don't like being called out on it. Oh me.

Been cleaning out the top of my toolbox. I have a smallish rollaway tool box in my living room, and when I come home from work with leftover hardware, or don't put my tools away when I'm done working on the car, it all goes in the top of the box. Well it was overflowing and I decided I needed to do something about it. There was some stuff up there I hadn't seen in years. Really.

About 60 out now. Great day. Now that lunch is over I'll go move the truck and get some stuff put into the garage.

Never did get to take the dogs for a ride, but I have a question. I should know this but what the hay.

I screwed around all afternoon trying to get things put back on the driveway. I could not, for love nor money, get the convertible to start. The battery was dead, I charged it several hours, and all I could get out of it was a slow turn about 3/4, then it would stop with a clunk like a riding mower with a broken crankshaft. It will do this a few times before the battery goes flat again. I'm guessing the engine is out of time, but I haven't messed with it and it ran a few days ago. Perhaps my battery is not taking a charge, or my charger is not giving one? How do you time an engine that isn't running?

Sheesh. This couldn't have been easy, oh no. It sits a couple weeks now because I go back to work tomorrow and will be gone next weekend. Any ideas?

Mike, your battery is junk. Hook up some booster cables or an APU and give it snuff. Bet it fires right up.

Before you do that? Put a multimeter on the battery. Betcha it's less than 11V. I had a battery like that (lifetime warranty BTW) that would only show about 12.8 V on a full charge. First turn of the key and it did what yours is doing. How old is the battery in the vert? Leaving it parked for long periods of time doesn't help the battery, especially if you have any draws however slight.

So, people are up this morn., I was surprised that nothing from CO was in my inbox when I logged in, must just be slow getting to my mail. Lotta rain and hail 'n sleet this morning, too wet as of late. May have one more car show this Sat. if the weather agrees, in Pentwater, Mi. about 50 miles north of me, (Octoberfest).

Hi everyone.

Bright out but cool. I finally had the idea to switch off the AC since it wasn't coming on anyway, no reason to power up that board that likes to burn out on the compressor. I had heard we were getting back up to the 80s this weekend but someone forgot to tell Mother Nature.

Allan that car will have to wait now until I get back from my trip next week. I go back to work tonight and nothing gets done during my work week.

Got a couple errands to run this afternoon then up to Big D. See ya's all a little later.

So pretty much everything I wanted to do this afternoon didn't pan out. Wanted to buy new sneakers, the place was closed. I even went to the mall. I haven't been there for years. Half a dozen sports stores and they only have these bright neon colored weird looking shoes. Not for me.

Thought about a pizza because I had my neighbor's newspapers in the car. No coupons. I'm not paying 30 bucks for a pizza. Then called to get my dogs in the kennel for this weekend. Sorry, we're full. School's out and everyone is on vacation. So on top of all that I don't get to go see my friends and meet Clint this weekend. And, I ended up at the Awful house for dinner. Awful is right because the chick that was there tonight makes a rock look smart.

So nothing so bad but a few in a row is enough to give a guy a complex. So now it's time for work. Hope everyone has a good evening.

Hey Mike, sorry to hear about the woes. LOL Awful House chicks are that good huh? I'm rolling just reading that and imagining the look on your face at AH.

WTH kind of pizza costs 30 bucks??? Most expensive one I ever bought was called a T-Rex. You'd have loved it - 2" thick loaded with cholesterol. 3/4" layer of various meats, 1/2" of cheese and deep pan dough underneath. Move over Heart Attack Grill....

BTW, the Heart Attack Grill is on my bucket list. I gotta get me some of this:

and WHO CARES if it's served by this 'rock of ages' ????

Holy Toledo! Is the HAG close to you Allan? Just say the word and I'll fly up and meet you. After eating that burger you need Nurse Goodbody to help revive you. The pizza you describe almost sounds like stuffed pizza. Yes around here if you walk in without a coupon or having ordered an online special, pizza is rather expensive. I love pizza but geez give me a break.

Plane comes in after 830. Might get going on a G job I've been putting off. We're going to the gate to bring the plane back so I get to mock the pasengers. It isn't nice but it's fun. If no one knows where the plane came from we try to figure it out by what the passengers look like. It's a hoot.

Okay have a good night everyone.

Nope, that one I pilfered the pics for is in Lost Wages NV, which I think is their only location. Hey - feeling lucky? If you tip the scales over 350 you eat for free, but no way in hell I want that kind of action - no matter which flavor of the day serves me. Check out their MENU. 40 extra pieces of bacon for only 7.40??? I'm in. Betcha we couldn't eat it all in one sitting.

When I'm ready to go, I'll set it up witchu. Mebbe we can git everyone there for a sillybration!

Mornin all

Mike, Sorry to hear you can't make it out this weekend. Let me know when its gonna work for you.

Allan, Those burgers used to look good to me. Anymore not so much.

Scot congrats on the distance award. Hopefully the kid wasn't bored to tears.

Jamesbo, How'd the game go yesterday?

Dan, Hopefully the hail is small enough not to do much damage. Lots of new cars still on the dealers lots with pock marks front to rear.

Finally met my Hagerty Insurance guy yesterday. He's been saying that insurance companies are getting real shifty, changing things in your policies and not giving you a good explanation.

Real sore from Sundays race.It was a good time. and since it was early in the day we were able to get home, clean the trailer and the bikes, and still have daylight left.

Here's the course we ran.

Have a day all.

Good morning everyone.

Did a gear lube at work last night. Man that black grease we use is nasty. Even wearing a paper blue suit the grease finds a way to get all over you. Yuck.

Allan I looked up that place and the guy is quite the entrepreneur. I was laughing at all the antics they do but I didn't quite get the owner bragging about the people dying at his place. Odd.

Cool out this morning, under 60. Gonna get up into the 80s again this week. That's what they say anyway.

Okay gonna jump in the shower and get this grease off me and then hit the sack. Have a good day everyone.

Good Tuesday Mawnin All

Lows came in right at the 1/2 century mark still loving it. Not looking forward to the "scorcher" this weekend, but hey we were invited back to the Flora-Bama so the temps will be somewhat offset by the sea breeze

Thanks Clint, it was unexpected for sure. Well she was ready for home when we arrived, but yearns to be some sort of archaeologist and was content digging up flint rocks in hopes of finding arrowheads up thar in Cherokee country. That course looks fun, fun, fun

Whelp I've got to go nurse my sore wallet Had to shuck out too many clams yesterday to have two septic tanks pumped out

Mornin', all... i think this morning was the last of the nice cool ones for a while. 'Twas 60, but spose to be hitting near 90 during days this week.

Sorry fer da' grease, Mike, but mocking the passengers and guessing their origination has to make it all worthwhile (oh, I seem to have gotten my smilies back!).

Couldn't eat half of that, Allan. But as you said, with a server like that.... (fill in the blank and play rimshot).

Clint, awesome route! Amazing how steady that camera stays through all the bumps. Sounds like you need a soak in Kramer's jacuzzi...

Scot, hope the pocket book heals up. I've never had ours pumped; prolly flirting with disaster... I'm hoping with just two people living here in a big house, it's forgiving.

Unfortunately, I've developed a cough. Strange, 'cause I usually get 'em after I've had a cold; but this one just came out of nowhere. Hope it doesn't have anything to do with breathing that paint and wood dust from the deck railing in GA. I should've been more diligent with the little paper respirator masks.

Whelpt, I hope Tiu smiles on everyone today.

Morning everyone.

What a nice change today. Yesterday was windy all day with gusts over 40 mph. Today it's calm but highs only around high 50s. I'll take it. Getting close to turkey day up here next Monday.

Clint, not like that burger is something I'd take on regularly, just a novelty I would like to,say I challenged.

Mike, stop, wiping the grease on the coveralls and you won't have that problem. Paper coveralls????

Scot, just make sure she doesn't excavate mr no shoulders. Glad we're hooked up to the city sewer system, no honey wagons in my near future.

Koffee wit intl flavor coming right up!

Enjoy your day.

John, sorry to hear about the cough. Likely it is from the dust. I got that too from sawdust working on the deck this past summer. Noticed it came on really bad one day cleaning up,sawdust under the table saw. It was a fine stuff about 2" deep. Hope you recover real quick. Tiu's spirit be with you my friend.

Seems to be a lot of speculation on the Vette & Car forums, as this possibly being the next ZR1, looks too Eye talian to me.

Hi everyone.

That Lambo is luscious. A far cry from a farm tractor.

Just an ideal day here today. I hope it continues all week.

Jamesbo did you ever settle the Suburban?

John a cough is the worst. I hope you get past it quick.

Allan our blue suits aren't really just paper. They're kind of like Tyvek, but not as strong. We got white ones, too, but those are plus sizes.

Thanks Allan... weird; I don't think I've EVER gotten a cough (before this one) that wasn't preceded by a head & chest cold. The cough is usually the gift that keeps on giving, well after the cold's gone...

Should get them white ones stitched and then blow em up like the Michelin Man or that ad for Sponge towels! Sort of like the hazmat suits I guess. Funny they'd let grease through them. Shouldn't happen.

John, Any other symptoms? My buddy had a nagging cough that lasted for about a month and a half. until thanksgiving when he had his heart attack. As soon as the stents were put in the cough disappeared.
