Turned out to be nice today, but not windy like they said. I'm torn, I want it to be windy to blow my one tree over, but I don't want it to hit anything. It leans at about a 15* angle towards the house.

Jamesbo the person you talked to sounds like the same one that called Clint.

My neighbor called about one minute after I woke up this afternoon. He wanted me to go put gas in his car. Now, I don't mind doing this, but he also wanted me to put gas in the car last week and at the last minute said don't worry about it. So today, when I'm trying to get ready for work, it's an emergency. Someone's coming to look at it he says. I'm quite certain there isn't, but like a good pseudo son I went and put gas in the car. Then I told him my time is so tight when I'm working that I won't get to eat dinner.

Friday for me. I already know I have a Monday lead, and he's a twit. I swear, every other department has good leads, why are we stuck with the bottom of the barrel? This guy one time when his plane finished up early, asked the foreman, right in front of the crew, can I send my guys home early? And of course the foreman, who is also a twit, said no, have them go work on this.

I was right, twit for a lead that left us all hang when we should have left early. Eh, I'm home now and they can't touch me. Not a bad night, though, we were inside and had a lot of work but none of it heavy.

Think I'll sleep a little today then have a burn pile this afternoon. Junkyard some time this weekend. Cold as a well digger's heal this morning but gonna warm up gradually all weekend. The wood stove is gonna get a workout.

Morning All!

Cold here this morning with a light dusting of snow in places. It's about 36 out there now. Of course I have capris and sandals on..... No lack of heat in here!

Jamesbo..... you make me laugh! Animal overload going on there. Not a good thing. I saved that 'stupid' pic you posted on facebook and emailed it to Clay. He got a good laugh about it. He's always saying people are 'stuck on stupid', lol. That was funny... and the truth!

Scot... I will give Teepo the message as soon as I see her, lol. I know.... I really hated to have to change her. But the tear in the seat was just getting bigger and made her look ratty or something.

I took Larry out to eat at Paninis last night. Pam had to cancel our supper date, she wasn't feeling well. I'm not coughing as much this morning as I've been.... of course I see the doc next Wed., so it will clear up no doubt. Today is day 47.

What a long boring week it's been! None of the guys are really busy. I'm glad it's Friday. I might go up to the cemetery this weekend and put the fall flowers on mom's grave. Might as well go while the weather is nice. I haven't been up there hardly at all lately. I feel bad.

Jamesbo I'm right there with you. Cold weather sucks. I should never have abandoned my plans to move out west.

Nothing good at the junkyard yesterday. Usually there are about two dozen G vans there, yesterday there were two. And neither one had the part I needed.

I've decided I'm going to go see my Mom the week before Thanksgiving instead of going to the Turkey Rod Run. No need for a repeat of last weekend, and besides that I haven't been to my Mom's since June.

Gonna do the burn pile today after I get back from Awful house. Perfect day for it.

Quick "hola" from sunny LA... cool, but nice dis mawnin' -- went for a walk in Ponchatoula Park around the mile & a quarter track; was very nice, but practically no one else participating --> everybody has little ragamuffins practicing on the junior league football teams there; the bleachers by the football fields were mob scenes....

Whelpt, today's our 22nd wedding anniversary, so we're eating at Keith Young's Steak House in Madisonville this evening.... one of our favorite places, period. (I usually have the softshell crabs, however.) When everybody comes to LA next year for the 2nd annual CO Meet ( ), that's a place we'll have to consider.

Need to do some outdoor work today, even if it's jes pulling weeds. It's downright GORE-JOO-US out there...

Hang in there, Jamesbo. Hopefully the interloping puppy is now gone. Sorry you didn't find any good parts, Mike, & hope you have a good trip to see Mom. Evening All!

Had a nice day here today. Sunny and around 55. Very windy though.

I met Nicole and Nick down at Cracker Barrel for breakfast this morning. I had a muffin and fruit cup. It was nice to see Nick. His flight left 4ish this afternoon. He said he was going to fly into Hotlanta then on to Seattle. He goes on to Korea from there in the morning.

Her and Nick came here to the house from the restaurant and I went over to the body shop and talked to Bob for a few hours while he was working. I enjoyed it! But I guess Larry came home while they were here and he yelled at her for something in front of Nick, so that put a damper on the day. Figures... Bob's office girl is taking another weeks vacation week after next and he wants Nicole to come in and help with the phones again. He's such a sweetie. She likes him so much.

They were gone when I got home. I worked outside the rest of the day putting out the scarecrows and stuff. Cut down the dead hostas and pulled up the dead marigolds and petunias from the flower beds. I moved the bird feeder poles over by the rose of Sharon trees thinking they might use them more if they can get into the trees. They don't seem to like the feeders on the poles since we had the big maple taken down. I haven't seen the cardinals in a long time. So I'm hoping the trees will make them feel safer.

I got the windlace things for Teepo today. They shipped much sooner than the guy said they would. I called Jay and told him, but we're going to wait until nice weather to put them in. He said Curly is working on the headrest covers. Hopefully I can get her tomorrow. The weather is looking rainy and snowy next week.

I'm going to go to the cemetery tomorrow since its supposed to be nice. Cooler, but nice. Probably have to take the dead flowers off the graves and clean them up some.

John... happy anniversary! Hope you all had a nice evening. Hope we can schedule our next CO meeting in LA around the time we're able to take our vacation there. Spring or fall.... no summer humidity!!

Good morning everyone. Looks like I get the worm, unless someone sneaks in while I'm still writing.

Oh do I hurt this morning. Yesterday I worked out in the yard all afternoon. Had a good burn pile going, did some trimming, raking, general cleanup of the back yard. Got a lot done. Then I came in and sat down and started to stiffen up. I could barely move by the time I went to bed. I can still feel it, but at least I can stand upright. Darrell I hope you fare better.

Mike are you required to get a permit to burn up there? I believe they have discontinued giving out burn permits down here for some reason and just making it against the law to just burn any rubbish on the ground per se. I think it has to be in a barrel.

Scot a burn permit is needed but I doubt if anyone actually gets one. I happened to read in the paper that you're supposed to call or visit the Forestry Dept's website and get a permit. You put in your info and it gives you a number. If anyone asks give them the number, that's the permit. I do it when I burn, it's no big deal. My burn pile is about 5ft square, not big.

So this morning I'm itching like crazy. Because I'm a dumbass and took my sweatshirt off and got the weeds I was pulling all over my arms. I'm almost out of spray so I may make a short trip to Walmart to get more. It's WM's generic brand itch spray. Works way better than calamine.

Working on the van. I might actually finish today.

 

Evening All!

It was cold and windy here today. Temps in the 40's and the wind was cold!!

Jay called this morning and asked if I could take the windlace thingys over to Curly, so I did that on the way to pick up Lin to go to the cemetery. Teepo was soooooo happy to see me! I was happy to see her too.

The seat is just beautiful!!!!! He did a fantastic job. He showed me the cut outs for the head rests. And... he gave me the build sheet that Jay got out! It is sooooo cool! A few little pieces are missing of course. I put the chunk and little pieces that I had saved a couple years ago with it, and put it in a sheet protector. I'm gonna look for document restorer people and see if I can get it put back together. I think its in really good shape for its age. I'm so thrilled to have it.

The package tray looks nice.... but its more of like a blue green color than just green. We couldn't understand why?

Mike... Jamesbo.... how many times have I said that Larry is like Jekel and Hyde?? Yes he was on good behavior while we were there. But with Nicole he has to act like like an a$$. Especially if someone is around to see him. Must be part of being a control freak, I don't know. She said that he pulled in behind her car yesterday real close and when her and Nick was getting ready to leave she was pulling up then backing up to the side so she could back the car around his truck and he came storming out of the house and said " you're not too fu**ing bright are you?" He's mad cause she was gone with Nick last week. Now she'll get the silent treatment and tension will rule the house once again. I swear that if this December is like last years, where he didn't talk to her all month (over her music and her black friend) I'm gonna kill him!!!! No reason for a grown man to treat a young girl like shi*! He needs to just let things go and move forward. He's pretty much made her life miserable for the last 14 years.

So anyhow... earlier today Nicole and I picked up Lin and went to Jeans and visited awhile then went to Newton Falls to the cemetery. Pulled the dead flowers up and cut back other ones and put fall decorations on the graves. Then we went to the DQ and had hot dogs. The DQ was closing for the season tonight.

I went with Nicole over to her work on the way home cause she had to let the boarding dogs out and feed them and give meds to the ones who needed them. It was interesting.

The weather was just on and it looks like we're going to get snow tomorrow night after the rain and lake effect is gonna kick in on Tuesday. Yipee skipee....... the end of the week looks good. Teepo ain't coming home in that crap and they better not put a ton of friggin salt on the roads!!!

I have to fast for bloodwork tomorrow. My yearly check up. I'm gonna be hungry like a big dog since my appointment isn't until 1:00. Clay is off tomorrow too. I'm taking a half sick day since I also have to have a bone density test after my check up. I cant see rushing back to sit and do nothing. Its been so slow.

Well I guess I'll get off here, so I'll talk to ya tomorrow.

 

Evening everyone. Wow another weekend blows by. Kids had a play date today, so they had a lot of fun. Watching the game tonight but its a blowout. Thought Dallas would have played better.

We finished our summer race series yesterday. The kid wasn't feeling very good, and ended up blowing chunks in her helmet. But her and I finished 1-2 in the year end points. No Mechanical failures and everyone came home in one piece. I have to go pick up another ATV I bought on Saturday. This will be emergency parts, but mostly a trail quad.

Nice morning here, temps around 40, but that's gonna change. Rain later this afternoon then turning to snow. Then we get the cold Canadian air coming down across the lake.... never a good thing.

Hot in here of course. Went and put on my skort. Clay is off today so I'll be spending time out in his area where it's cooler.

Got the email today from the owner saying the company is once again giving bonus' out before Thanksgiving, and also paying for our turkeys. This is a great company to work for. Just wish it was busier for me here.....

We're not supposed to burn in the township either... but we do. We get a big ole brush pile going and eventually we have to burn it. We only had the fire dept. show up once, years ago. Larry was drinking of course and had that fire really going! The smoke was going over to Rt. 91 and someone called and complained. He put it out when they stood in the yard and told him to. Now he tries to wait until the wind isn't blowing over that way, lol. We can have little fires like for weenie roasts and such.

I think it's going to be cool tonight. I'm getting more and more of my winter clothes out, not liking that.

Well my blue van project seems to have derailed. I got the new bumper on but there's some sort of funk on it I can't get to polish off. Then I was putting a piece of trim on and broke one of the clips that holds it on, then I broke my only extra one. Then we had wind the other day and it knocked my headlight surrounds on the ground and one of them broke. Well, at least I have the bumper on so I can drive it and the dogs don't have to ride in the Saturn anymore.

Got my hair cut today by this cute little girl. The guy I usually go to is in the hospital. Anyway I look like I'm in the military. Fitting for today I guess.

My Dad was in the Navy, and although he wasn't in any war, there were several "conflicts" that he was a part of. He was on the USS Midway. When we were kids he'd show us movies that he had taken on board but wouldn't really talk about what he did. He would always brush it off as no big deal. Well, after he died I found out he was some sort of bomb diffuser, which I thought was a really big deal.

The funniest thing happened yesterday evening. I raked the front yard and drug all the leaves under the trampoline where there is a huge hole where an above ground pool once was. Well my Jerk Russell decided there was a squirrel in there or sumphin and decided to go "swimmin" in da leaves. It was hilarious. She was well over her head and didn't realize it until it was too late. You should have seen her trying to swim out of there. LOL I will have to try to get a video of that and put it on youboob. Maybe even America's Funniest Home Videos

Morning All!

Well we got snow too. Started last evening. It's not bad here in this area - maybe an inch right now. You can still see the grass in places. Supposed to get lake effect though... it depends on where you are as to how much you'll get today. Temps in the 20's. Not ready for this shi*!!!!

Dan... I hear you. My coworker Brian, he gets like your co-worker. We already had the conversation this morning about the snow. He's lived here his whole life too... I'm like 'Brian... this happens every year. This is a surprise how? It's Northeast Ohio. So now all day, when he's on the phone to our Houston location or one of the other locations, I'll have to hear him repeat the weather forecast over and over like it's never friggin snowed here..... It makes me crazy!!!

I came back here yesterday afternoon after my dr. appt. It was only 3:15 so I figured why not? Brian would have went on home, lol. I was pretty upset cause I fasted and the doc didn't do blood work this time! I had a ham salad sandwich when I got back here. I guess I'm healthy. I go see my regular doctor tomorrow evening about this stupid cough.... 51 days now. I've never coughed this friggin long.

Jay called when I was driving back yesterday and said that Teepo is all done and I could pick her up, but it was already sprinkling so I said it will have to wait for the weekend or one evening after the roads get dried up. I can't wait to get her back. She might have to have dirty oil this winter if I can't get her out to Defer cause of weather. I'm hoping not.

I made an appt. at Sears Optical to have my eyes checked this coming Saturday. It's been overdue for a long time. I need new specs bad!! Wish I could afford Lenscrafters, but they are expensive! I can use the AARP or AAA discount at Sears. I don't like them much though. I always have to go back at least twice after I get my glasses cause something is always off.....

Clay is out this morning. He had to go to Cleveland to see if he gets picked for Jury duty, lol.

We got an email from the owner of the company yesterday saying that he's going to go in to semi retirement the first of the year. God bless him, he's 87 years old and does so much traveling all the time and is always hands on in just about everything. He was saying he's going to start delegating responsibilities to others so he can take time to go fishing or play golf or do whatever he wants. It's about time he enjoy himself some! He said he will still stay involved in the company.

Jamesbo... I liked riding that MARTA train. I didn't exactly like some of the other patrons, lol, but that train takes you everywhere! I thought it was very handy to have something like that.

Sandy, whatever season the gang decides is fine by me. Keith Young's was the best it's ever been. I had a monster softshell crab topped w/ shrimp and bechamel sauce; wiffey had mahi mahi topped by jumbo lump crabmeat and mushrooms. Those things by selves were to die for; but we had sides & appetizers of broiled scallops, oysters Bienville, creamed spinach, potatoes au gratin, and green beans (all shared). Wow... I didn't even have room for coffee after that; made for some good sleepin' Saturday night.

Only problem with K.Y.'s is that Madisonville is about an hour and a half drive from N.O. It's only about 20 minutes from the Plantation, however -- which is nice for me and the better half. But it's close to Hammond, Sandy, so if you go to see the house of your buddy from Duck Dynasty, you'd be nearby anyway....

Also, I'm with the rest of the gang re: Larry -- he seemed so cordial and friendly. He must be a street angel & a house devil -- as my Mom used to call me. Sorry for the commotion at your casa.... I hope Nicole handles it as well as possible; I know that ain't easy for a young lady.... or anybody, for that matter....

Well it's snowing. I had to cut my walk short at lunch time cause I was just plastered with snow, lol. It's heavy and wet and soaked thru my jeans and sweat jacket. Did I ever mention that I hate snow???

John... I like that 'street angel and house devil'. That pretty much sums it up. He can be very charming and nice.... when he wants to be! There's just no reason for him to talk so mean, when being nice accomplishes more, and it doesn't hurt people. He doesn't care though... he's the voice of authority!

So when I come to see Bruce in Hammond, (Swamp People) I'm gonna be close to you and a good place to eat, huh? Works for me! Troy and Liz are the Swampers I really want to meet. Troy is in Pierre Part and Liz is around Pecan Island. Like I know those places, lol!

Well Clay just called from the courthouse. He said they're still picking people and he's thinking it's gonna be an all day thing. He ain't happy!! I better go check his emails again.

De new Coon's stadium is right next to where the Ga Dome is. All they hadta do is pay an AME church a few million to relocate.

De Braves headed fer de hills and now [jes today] our wondeful mayor [whose name I won't attempt to say or spell] says, It's a great opportunity to redevelop the area in housing. Like ere ah, everyone needs a mcMansion in de hood overlooking de interstate.

Hey everyone. As Pooh would say, happy Winds-day. It's pretty blustery here in the Greater Stockbridge Area this evening.

Snow? It's time to hibernate. Every year in the spring I say, I have all summer to find a new job and not have to work outside in the winter. I don't have much of an opinion about the Braves, but it seems ashame to be done with that stadium so early. I don't see why they can't build a parking deck to solve the parking problems.

Evening everyone. Hope you all enjoyed the day and that the weather was warmer where you are. Going down to 25 tonight. Not ready for this yet. Kids want me to put up the Christmas lights. I told them it was kind of early, but there are several homes around me already lit up and ready for the holiday. Guess I'm losing that argument and will be doing it shortly.

Haven't driven the Cutlass in about two months, need to get it out of storage to give it some exercise. Hopefully this week.

Jamesbro - I only got to swing the clubs once this year, really have the itch to play now but time's just about up for me.

Mike - the biz is moving along slowly, but thanks for asking. It's going to take a while, and I am still not sure how bad the new goverment healthcare law is going to affect my business. Will hope for the best.

Sandy - I hear ya about the snow. We got about an inch of the fluffy stuff today. Kids were going crazy and could not wait to get out of school and play in it. The last episode of the Walking Dead still did not explain how the sick turned into zombies. Not sure how many people are actually still alive in the jail at this point.

John - yea no joke. I'm sure after the Saints lost to the Jets, they were itching to take it out on someone.
