Evening everyone.

Well I'm sitting here with the BJ auction on. I said I wasn't going to watch it but I am drawn by the Batmobile. I just hope some investment group in Japan or something similar doesn't buy it and take it out of here. BJ is like a train wreck. You know what's going to happen yet you can't look away. Saw a 70 W30 go for 325 a little while ago.

So I made the trip to the Micro car museum today. It was very well done, there were some excellent vehicles there, odd, rare, exquisite. It's a shame the collection will be broken up, but it all belongs to one man and he can do whatever he wants with it. That being said, I can't remember when I've been amongst a more displeasing group of people. The place was packed. Children were running wild. People would just stand right in front of the descriptions, not reading them. Others would stand in the middle of the aisle pointing at what they were looking at. People were trying to take pictures, and there was more than one that had huge cameras on tripods, and would just set up the tripod right in the middle of everything. People were opening doors, groping, touching, pawing the cars and display pieces. I can only imagine what it will be like next week, the last two days they are open.

Scot best of luck to the daughter. She'll do fine and it will be a great experience for her.

Jamesbo have you lost it? You're the one that asked me for the name of a place around the southside. Maybe I should open a place. I'd have the only Cuban Waffle House.

Sampson did Mac get his walk in today?

Work tomorrow, three days goes just too quick. Gonna stay up late so I can sleep in tomorrow and not be a zombie. I don't know how much longer BJ goes but it will be on at least for a little while longer.

Have a good night everyone.

Evening All!

Jamesbo.... you're up past your bedtime, aren't you?

It was nice here today. Sun and 49 degrees. Very windy though. We have high wind warnings out through tomorrow. Might get some snow tonight too.

I washed windows inside and out today. I sure love the Ultimate cloth!! Makes it soooooo easy. I got the house cleaning and laundry done too. Filled the birdfeeders.

Nicole should be heading home tomorrow, I hope. I've only heard from her once today. I told her it would be easier for this kid from Canada to just stay in Columbus and catch the bus there instead of her bringing him back this way and her having to run him around on Monday. She has class Monday, and I don't know what she plans on doing with him while she's in class. I don't even know where he plans on staying tomorrow night if he does come back here with her. Not my problem I guess. They just never think things through.

We watched the last episode of Fringe last night. I hate to see them end the show. I really liked it. They had a Delta (I think) in the episode. They only showed it once, quickly. It looked really nice. They hadn't shown the Vista Cruiser since some early episodes. They must have had some Olds lover's running the show, lol.

Scot.... your daughter did pick a hard one didn't she? I think that's a good thing though. Hope it works out like she wants it to.

I'm going to take Jean to Target tomorrow after she gets off work if it doesn't get too bad out. We have to get her grandsons finance something for a wedding shower gift and they're registered there. The shower is next Sunday. I don't like going to these things. I don't know how I got invited.... I've never even met the girl! Oh well.

I don't have anything else planned for tomorrow. If its snowy and windy, I don't plan on going out of the house!

Well you all have a good night.

Good Evening .

I was so bummed out last night after work I walked to the nearest bar ( 2 blocks ) and drank myself silly . I have not had a drink in over two years , so it was quite an event . When I got home I dug an old bottle of Sambvoka out and started pounding that . I guess I started thinking aloud and slamming cupboards and tossing things around a little . I also managed to blurt out about this lady at my work that i've been trying to get with . Of course the wife heard all of this and told me what I was doing and saying last night with a smile on her face . I don't remember this AT ALL .

On another note , me and the family went bowling today as part of my sons birthday event , and I was all hung over . I haven't went bowling in about 20 years or so , and bowled two games . I managed to bowl a 152 and a 173 . I only hit the gutter bumper a few times that we had raised for the kids . , so that helped me make a few spares that I wouldn't of had if the bumper wasn't raised . I still did pretty good though , but my son was not very happy that his little sister beat him one of those games . She even managed to get a couple of strikes ! I couldn't beleive it .

I'm gonna go and work on my car for a bit , so until next time .....

Uh oh. What happened at work? Must have been pretty serious to lose your sobriety commitment. From the sounds of it you might have given the Mrs. a little ammunition in her favor, so maybe tread lightly for a while. Don't take it out on the car - you're doing a great job on those repairs. Brian and I posted a few comments I hope will help you out.

46 pts.

Dat's what I saw somewhere, Jamesbo. It looks like da' Birds is playin' fer keeps! This is the first time in my life I've pulled fer da' Birds.... Go Ryan... Looks like it's gonna' be a nail-biting second half....

How's da' mountins? Didn't know Lake Burton was so low.... does TVA manage level? Lake Chatuge was the lowest we've ever seen it over the holidays.... not sure what's goin' on, or if anything but the drought is responsible....

Go Birds

Hey everyone.

Whoa it is a quiet day here. I stayed up until after 2 last night and stayed in bed till about 2 this afternoon. Of course I got up for the dogs a few times.

Bryan you need to check in regularly and often so we know if anything happens to you.

Jamesbo I didn't realize you were asking about the cuban place for a friend. You just asked if I knew of a place. I see on another thread that guy in NY finally bought that Cutlass you looked at. What did your friend ever end up doing with that green convertible you told me about?

Allan when I lived up home I had an engine heater on my car. Always nice to have quick heat when it's Minus whatever.

Time for work. I don't get the day off tomorrow, but Milk Day is one of our holidays so in essence it's like an extra day of vacation. I'm two up, tomorrow and New Years. Hey look at me.

Hope everyone enjoys their day off tomorrow and has a good week.

Da' Birds got shot down....

Whelpt, they squandered a 17-pt. lead; so sorry to hear "Harbaugh the Younger" gets to come to N.O. Man, I dislike that guy. (See his tantrum today when Little Jimmy doesn't get his way.)

Allan, "da' Birds" are just the Falcons... Saints fans (and I guess a lot of other folks) call them the "Dirty Birds." So we just shorten it to "da' Birds." (Da' Birds and da' Saints have been each other's "nemeses" since I was a pup.)

Da' way it's lookin' now, it'll be a Harbaugh Superbowl, as da' Ravens is puttin' a whoopin' on da' Patriots. So Little Jimmy and Big Johnny will meet here in 2 weeks. I'll be pullin' for Big Johnny.

Y'all have a great Sunday nite, and a great Monday regardless of whether you're working tomorrow, Olds buddies.

Evening .

I was surprised to see NE lose . Poor Brady I haven't been paying as much attention as I use to . I just figured they would win , and I also figured that Atlanta would win too .... Oh well .

I'll try to . I've been on a mission with this car , not to mention I have a lot on my mind . I think the only thing that may happen short term is I'm going to have to move .

Mawn'in all

A little chili but spose to warm up

Allan, Nope we ain't got no block heaters. When I usee to put out hay fer de cows 'bout once a year it was cold enough fer the diesel to need a little help but dat's 'bout as cold as it get down ere.

I do have a little Coleman heater fer my golf cart dat I fire up 'bout 2x a year.

John, I guess de birds are done fer de season. De started out like a house on fire '.............bout.

Nope Burton isn't a TVA lake it's a Ga Power lake but most years de drop it in de winter so folks can spend anutter mil on their stupid boat houses. Tar was a scav'in article a few years back in de NYer magazine 'bout how people should jes park their Rolls down by de lake insted of show'in off by spend'in a few hundred grand on their boat house to impress folk. Hey, Mike can I borrow your Rolls and park it down wit de canoes? I desperately need sum statis

Welp. GTG smack whitey 'round. Have a great day Olds friends.

Mike, I "Think" sum one I went to high school with axed me 'bout a Cuban place in your neck of de woods. De didn't wanta drive way up ere even after my bragg'in on how good the place close to me was.

Morning everybody.

Jamesbo just tell me where to drop that brick off. It would be fitting to park it by the lake. It is a giant boat anchor.

Work was tedious. Not a bad night, but I had to install a whole bunch of cannon plugs and clamps in a space that was just a tad smaller than my two hands. My fingers are killing me and my hands and arms are all scratched up. But the pressure is off, Monday is over.

Bryan I'm glad you're feeling better. Working on the car probably helps, too. You should stay put, let the other person move.

Well I was falling asleep on the way home, and I'm done with my big bowl of Lucky Charms, so it's off to bed I go. Have a good day everyone.

Morning All!

It's a crisp cold 19 degrees here this morning. No wind or snow yet, but it's coming later today, they say. I get sooooo tired of the drama.... It's like - It's Northeast Ohio in January, ya know? How did we ever survive the winters when I was growing up without the weather people being so dramatic? It's a wonder we didn't freeze to death cause we didn't know what the wind chill was, lol!

Not much taffic on the roads this morning which was nice. Wish we had the day off. The holiday should be for 'all americans' not just gubment folks.

Nicole came home somtime in the wee hours this morning. I texted her yesterday and asked when she was coming home, and she said 'maybe not until tomorrow' and I said don't you have class tomorrow???? Give the kid an inch and she takes 2 miles. It's like she had Thurs. afternoon and night, all day and night Friday and Saturday and all day Sunday with this kid and her 'friends' playing grown up dress up..... good God! I told her Larry would be highly pis*ed off - we're not paying $735 a month for her to miss class on a whim! I'd just like to choke her sometimes, lol. Her eyes looked pretty bloodshot this morning, lol. She has to take this kid to the bus station after class. I don't know where he stayed last night - she just said at one of her 'new friends' houses. She lies so much, so who knows.....

I remember going through the day on 45 minutes of sleep, lol. Felt like crap all day, but I made it. Guess she will too.

Jean and I spent 3 hours or so in Target yesterday, going through the registry list I printed and finding the gifts they were asking for, for the wedding. We had fun! Had Starbucks twice while we were there, lol. After finding all the gifts, we added it up, and it came to quite a bit of money neither one of us had to spend, so we let the cart sit, and got them gift cards, lol! Pretty bad, huh??

I dug out and wore my 'funeral' coat today. Figured it would keep me warmer walking at lunch time than my leather does. That's if the winds pick up like they say they will. The coat is black wool with a fur collar, and it comes down past my knees; a very nice dress coat. I bought it and wore it once, back in 2003 for my neices funeral. It's hung in the closet in a bag ever since. Figured I better wear it before the moths eat it or somethin.

So far the wind isn't blowing at all. It was colder yesterday with the wind really whipping. I'm sure it will pick up, though. It's hot in here as usual. Sandals and capris have been on since I walked in....

Well you all have a great Monday! I'm looking forward to watching that new show "The Following" tonight.

Good mornin' everyone. Going to be a quiet day here today. Kids are home and watching Scooby-doo. Well, maybe me too.

Was 55 yesterday, today in the 30's and some snow coming tonight.

Sandy - I hear ya about the weatherman. They always have to be dramatic around here too.

I was suprised that the Ravens won, they kind of fell apart in the 2nd half of the season and looked like they were fading. Going to be an interesting Super Bowl.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Quiet on here today, huh?? Well we have snow, wind, sun, clouds... kind of a mismash of crap!! And the temp is down to a balmy 16 degrees. I bundled up at lunch time and put my scarf over my face and walked for 20 minutes. It was nice to get out, even if it was cold. I stay pretty warm when I'm walking. It's always nice to get out of here into the fresh air.

Nicole's friend missed his bus. He's stuck here now with no american money and the banks closed today!!! Talk about your planning..... So Nicole is taking him over to Tony's and they're gonna hang out there until she takes him to frggin Cleveland tonight so he can catch the 10:00 bus. What a friggin mess. I hope to God she's careful on the roads, out late, by herself in the worst cold we've had in 3 years! I swear to God these kids think nothing through. Nothing.

Well stay safe and warm!!

Afternoon/evening Oldsmobuddies

Been pretty quiet today. Took the wifes car out this mawnin and filled it with fuel, then swung by the 'shop' and painted it. Looks really good for only 1 hr in the bay!!

Weather here has been crappy as usual. Overnight yesterday was -27. Today was slightly warmer at -13 but it's been snowing fluffy stuff for the past 10 hours or so. We've accumulated 4" in a little over 30 hours. Forecast for overnight is another 2" and on Wednesday another 4". All the streets have turned to solid sheet ice at intersections. On the way to curling yesterday a car 2 oncoming cars skidded out of control. One hit the boulevard, the other flipped onto it's roof and landed right in the middle of the road about 30' away. No one was hurt. Peeps need to remember that winter driving means using their brains more than they do and driving to conditions.

Jamesbo - ya whack whitey good today??

Clint - y'all should visit that humor thread - there's a beaut on there today!

Heard back from Tony *Tony72CutlassS* this morning. He's been in Austria for the past 2 months. Says he's been working his tail off. Hope they pay him premium for having to be overseas that long. He's planning to fix the fenders, door and repaint the car when he gets back. Supposed to be a surprise but the word 'purple' was part of the email....I miss having him around.

Isn't it supposed to be a quiet and somber day down there because it's Martin Luther King day? Don't know if that's a national US holiday or not. I know the markets are all shut down.

On the ugly side, gas prices here just went up 9¢/litre. (that's 34¢/US gal). So that makes our fuel still the cheapest in Canada, but still pricier than a lot of US states. WTH did we do to deserve that? OHHHH, yeah - the inauguration and speculation for our next 4 years.

Sandy,

They get smarter at about 30 or so. At least mine did. That's when you get smarter as well (only because they finely realize they should have listened to you when they were younger).

Evening everyone.

Was a nice day here in the greater Stockbridge area. Sunny and mild. Nice night out but it's gonna be cold.

If I remember right I didn't cause my mother too much consternation. I liked sneeking beer into my bedroom and she would go try to find it when I wasn't home. We both came to an unspoken understanding when I left a case of my empties in a conspicuous spot with a note saying, shame on you for snooping. I was in my 20s by this time. To this day I won't drink anything with my Mom around. Just pop.

We had a weatherman when I was growing up and he would say, this is what we think is going to happen.... For the last 20 or more years there's this guy that's been on WGN, Tom Skilling, and he loads up 20 minutes with not understood weather jibber jabber. Impressive graphs, nonsensical info.

Time to HTB. Hope everyone has a good week.

A little nippy around here, 1* with a wind chill of -15*, not much accumulation, but the drive home was a pain because of the blowing snow. Doesn't look like we'll get the 8-12" that they were calling for the 3-4 preceding days and are now backing off on that while claiming how accurate they are with their forecast...not even close!

Mornin all.

Congrats on the good game. Jamesbo. I try a strategy like that while racing, but it doesn't seem to work out for me as well. I jump shorter distances, and go a little slower than the others, but I can't seem to keep up with them.

Sandy, I heard about the wreck too. And yea, I thought about you too. hope tincanio is wrinkle free. Also hope N got home safe.

Mike, I grew up listening to a weatherman named Stormy Rottman. He has to be 200 years old by now, But I would still trust his forecasts more than these lovely lass' they have on there now.

Allan, That was a hoot. Did you watch any of the Pompous and circumstance yesterday? What a joke. Does anyone know how many calories it takes to roll your eyes at the house majority leader?

Its about 45 right now. Spose to get near 70 today. My guess is, that'll mean some wind.

Have a great day all.

Speaking of Beautimus, it's my TW's Berfday today

Jamesbo you know they raised the taxes on the Antique Auto tags from $20 a year to $80 a year and now look what they are after Georgia Threatens to Raise Taxes on Older Vehicles

I think it just plain sucks that the good ole Gubment takes what they can throughout the year and then taxes the h377 out of whats left Then go after our cars?

Well I see them Facklins couldn't hold on and dey got runned over by da nine'ers That was an easy Jackson Dem Facklins are to football like the Cubs are to baseball

Well yall have a great day I have to write some state reps 'bout these proposed taxes

Morning All!

Thanks for all the thoughts! I appeciate it. There were a couple bad pile up accidents around yesterday, I saw on the news. A 12 year old girl was killed in one of them. It's really bad up in the snow belt area around Ashtabula, Mentor, etc....

A lovely 8 friggin degrees here, wind chills around 10 below. We don't have much snow here in this area, but it is snowing real fine flakes now and the wind is blowing it around. Roads were slushy in places and wet in others, hard to tell what was just wet and what was ice. God, June and July was soooooo nice and hot!!

Nicole made it home around 11:45 last night. I was worried all evening. Cleveland was just a mess of snow and ice. I just kept praying she'd make it safely. She is sick ths morning - hope she doesn't have that flu. She got up with a pounding headache and her temp is 101.6. I gave her Tylenol and tried to get her to stay home from school (for a change, lol), but she went. God only knows what kind of germs she picked up at that convention full of people. The flu is really, really bad around here this year. Hope she makes it through the day.

Citcapp.... Thanks, lol! I just don't know if she will ever get her head out of her butt.... I'll probably be dead from worry by the time she hits 30, lol.

Not a whole lot goin on in here this morning. Pretty quiet. I was dumb enough to wear a thin sweater this morning..... that lasted about 5 minutes, lol. Went and put on the short sleeved blouse, capris and sandals!!! It's just ridiculous!

Well stay safe and warm all, and have a good day!!

Happy b'day to your wife Scot! Hope she has a great day.

Mornin', Oldsmofriends. Nuttin' new down here; it's a bit chilly (40*), but that's downright hot compared to Cleveland and St. Paul. Stay warm, Sandy.... Glad your iron-willed daughter made it back safely.... now to get her back to health...

Congrats on the strong whitey smakkin', Jamesbo.

As far as raisin' taxes on older cars, all I can think of is the Beatles' "Taxman." What truer words have ever been spoken or sung?

Y'all have a warm day.

Mid thirties here on the left coast. The inversion is just about over and we should be back to the mid forties at rain in a few days.

Jamsbo, I haven't been on a golf course since late October. It sucks playing in the pouring rain and when it clears up the greens are frozen until the afternoon. Glad to hear to kept up with the big boys.

Well back to work. Talk to you all later

Well it's 6 degrees out here now. I bundled up at lunch time and walked some. It's not bad as long as you keep moving, lol. It's if you stop that you can feel that cold go right into your bones. Wind is still blowing.

Nicole called me around 9:30 and said her teacher sent her home. Her phone isn't working so I can't text her to see how she's doing. I told her just to go to bed and sleep. Hope she did!

Evening everyone.

Happy happy to the TW, Scot. Many happy returns of the day.

Nice night out, if not a tad chilly. Supposed to be in the 20s tonight, which means gale force winds at the airport. Where I work is sort of in a depression, as it were, the rise of the taxiway forms a gully with the buildings and the ramp where the planes sit makes an excellent wind tunnel. Too bad it only does it in the winter.

Sandy I hope Nicole gets to feeling better. Nice that the teacher had the forethought to send her home before she zombified right there in class.

I gave up all my "antique" plates when they went to charging for them. The tag office woman said it was to help the state get more money. I said it didn't work this time.

Clint enjoy 70*. We here in the warm weather station will see 50s, before it gets cold again and starts to rain.

Okay! Day three is upon me. Time to git to gittin'. Hope everyone has a nice night.

No longer a virgin!

...my snowblower that is alright you pervs, get your mind out of the gutter! Went to the doc today, high cholesterol, (244) never been this high, usually around 200-210, so I better keep an eye on what I stuff into my face. BP was 144/90, again very high for me, usually 122/80, I have been taking Allegra D for awhile, he said to quit taking it, just use regular Allegra, as the "D" can cause high BP, my HDL is good at 54, and triglycerides at 100, so he says it's not as bad as it seems, but I'll get working on it. He also mentioned the the flu vaccine did not match up too well this year, which explains the outbreak a couple of weeks ago. Scot, I was thinking about the Lions this year, and had the same thought...a Cubs curse 'er something. Welll gotta go, get'in up early to head to Detroit for the auto show. Drive safe everyone.

Good morning all!

If my mind weren't in the gutter. It would have to ask for directions, cuz it would be lost. I'm fighting with the high Cholesterol thing too, but my doc isn't too worried since my BP is very low, and I have no other warning signs. ( I also don't think it helped he tested it the day after Christmas. )

Mike the state sure likes to play its games. I hear CDOT is looking at raising our gas taxes so they can maintain the roads. (They doubled registration fees a couple of years ago for the streets and bridges and we still haven't seen an improvement. My old 86 toyota pick up went front about $25 up to $65 a year for tags. I didn't plate my trailer last (I forgot) But I havent used it. They are going to charge me an additional $100 penalty the next time I do plate it.

Well, Sandy it at least sounds like you wont freeze to death with the bad weather, as long as you can make it to work. Stay warm er... and cool.

Scot. Happy Burpday to the missus!

Have a happy humpday all.

Happy hump day

Mawnin all. 23 degrees here this mornin. Tried to talk Mac outta his walk but he insisted. Guess it wasn't too bad for him since he carries his fur coat with him everywhere. I shouldn't complain after hearing how cold Sandy was. Hope Nicole has a speedy recovery. I hear y'all about the Colesteral thing. My Doc has gradually reduced the things I can eat or smoke to Water and Air. Save a lot on groceries and such but now I spend it on pills!

Morning All!

Where's Jamesbo??? It's a cold 7 degrees here this morning. The sun was trying to come up earlier and the sky was pretty. The snow squeeks in this cold when you walk and drive on it, lol. Wind chills are at -9 they're saying. I know it's cold.....

The thermometer in the breezeway said it was 40 degrees out there this morning, but it sure felt colder than that in there, to me. The cat agreed....

Got the capri's and sandals on, sleeves rolled up. Only 75 in here right now.

Nicole felt a little better today. The fever broke yesterday but her head is still pounding she said, and her chest really hurts. She took some Mucinex last night. It sounds like her cough is productive, which is good. She had pnuemonia when she was 2 and she gets wheezy at times with her allergies. Told her to make sure she has her inhaler with her just in case she needs it. She went to class.

I have to renew the license plates on Tincanio and the Intrigue by March. They are almost $56 each. I used to have personalized ones until they got up over a hundred bucks! Waaaaay too much money. Teepo has historical plates - a $30 one time fee - and a year of mfg. plate on the back, so I don't have to worry about renewing her plates anymore. We don't even get a new license plate, unless you want to buy one. All we get is that little sticker for our $56.00!

Well you all have a good hump day.... and watch that cholesterol!!

Good Morning ,

Sorry I have not been on here much lately , I've been real busy keeping myself occupied . I have been working 10 hr days , and started playing the guitar and singing again like I use to . I even found time to write part of a cool song that popped in my head . The song has a country , Skynard sort of ring to it . I also have been working on the car in between all of that , doing my chores , and smoking a butt load of cigarettes . I've been averaging about 4 hrs of sleep a night , because I also have to get up and take my kids to school in the morning ....

Well , gotta go and check the fluids on the Buick before I do the dishes , and get ready for work . BTW it's been real friken cold out the last few days . The other night was the coldest I can ever remember .
