Depending upon how many steps and how high things are, a simple ramp may work well.

Got a text from the new owner of my car today. It's getting ready to head to TN for paint and an engine freshening (seals/gaskets/paint). Good thing he texted, engine was going to get gold instead of red. Whoopsie.

Yes, he was fortunate enough to text you in time for you to provide a correction for him.

Kenneth the back porch is second floor so it would be just as many steps as inside. The yard slopes up a little near the house, I might be able to reduce the count by about a third. Not sure it would work out going that direction. Always thinking.

I needed to move the dogmobile and the Mercedes and of course they were both dead. Got the battery charger out and got them both started and moved. Tomorrow I'll get my sister's car out of the garage and see what I can do with the Imperial.

Beautiful today and over 60. Hope it continues. Only a month before time changes again. We keep hearing that time will stay and not change, but so far we change. Eh, it doesn't bother me. I'm not going to say it ruins my life because it throws off my circadian rhythm.

Work was slow. The lead will be out all week, so there will be no motivation. Just means I get more naps in. I thought we were supposed to have a meal tomorrow, but no mention has been made, so who knows. I'll bring lunch just in case.

Remember the Email address inquiry we were talking about on this and other websites? I clicked on the yes on both site I got it on. Well guess what? I have been bombarded with junk mails since. I mean like 20-30 a day. I can go on my email and see them come in as I am deleting them!! I am not positive this is what cased it but sure seems logical. OK so what is the best way to deal with junk email?? I sometimes just delete them and sometimes mark them as junk. Is there a way to get them to stop?? I still use my email for important things. It's very irritating having to sift thru junk to get to the stuff I need!

The direct answer is this will depend entirely upon what e-mail provider/system/service you use i.e. G-Mail, Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, AOL, iCloud, Yahoo, or your local ISP e-mail provider (as examples).

Greg - Unfortunately, there is probably no way to stop them from coming the 1st time, but there may be a way to stop them coming from the same place a 2nd time. Often solicitory emails have a hotlink at or near the bottom of the email for you to "opt out" of any future solicitations. That's what I usually do.

I'm not doing that for my pug. I'll carry his 30lb butt up and down the stairs myself. Besides, I think that system would wind up killing my wife or kids from a trip and fall.

Whether someone does or does not employ some type of escalator is a choice. There are options. A nice vertical elevator would be handy (~$20K).

Good morning guys,

Cool and wet here, with a projected high of 45° and rain throughout the day. The best day of the week is supposed to be tomorrow with a high near 70° and sunny.

No big plans for today. I think my Wife and I are both romantics, but we refuse to give in to the commercialization of this made up Holiday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Jim - Thanks for asking! She is doing maybe slightly better, but still gimpy. I am still carrying her up/down stairs and lifting her up/down off the couch. One of the largest challenges right now is trying to keep her from blasting into play mode when Monty wants to play, and she wants to engage. I keep hoping she will keep getting a little better each day, but progress is slow to date.

Thanks for the suggestion on the baby aspirin. I'll be brutally honest and admit I am in a tough spot in regard to providing suggestions on how to care for the dogs. I really have to pick my battles in this area. I will also be the first to admit Dawn has researched and read every article known to the veterinary community pertaining to the care of Bulldogs.

Jim - I know I'm not Mike, but here's my 2-cents:
1. Have you already verified the seller's identity and where he's located! Have you verified where the car is located? If you don't have answers to these questions,, I wouldn't send a deposit.

2. If you've verified the info above, next question is, is the deposit he's requesting a refundable or non-refundable deposit? Has that been clarified? I wouldn't agree to pay any deposit that is non-refundable if I in good faith agree to go and look at the car.

I am NOT making suggestions on ANY type of dog lift neither am I suggesting the dog lift I posted is built to ANY standard. It was a very, very, very, very, very, very SIMPLE suggestion demonstrating what SOMEONE has done.

Good morning everyone.

Nah I never phuque with them Jamesbo. I would imagine a scammer would recognize being scammed and then ghost you, therefore ruining your fun. I thought you gave up the K5 thing?

When I had my other dogs I was trying to figure out rigging up a crude elevator, a platform with a rope and pulley, they could step out on and I would lower them to the yard, and then pull them back up. Not sure I could have convinced them to get on it in the first place.

Whenever Tiger has a malady the vet gives him Remidil(sp?) as a pain reliever. I looked it up and it's actually bad for dogs but not always. So as not to give him something bad for him, I cut them in half and give him half at a time. But then I have twice as many and save them to give him other times. Go figure that one.

So we're having pizza and wings today. We stopped working about a quarter to 11, it was all supposed to be here at 11, and it's 1130 now and still not here. Well, it will dawn on them eventually that we aren't doing any more work until we eat. That might motivate them.

Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Jim - I obviously misunderstood the meaning of "do you ever phuque with them?" I thought you were asking Mike if he ever (?) does business with them if they're asking for a deposit?

Before I found my Old's, I went all the way to the Streetside Classics in Atlanta to look at a '66 Plymouth Belvedere II with 440ci, Six Pack carb, and 4-speed. Car sure looked "purdy" in their online ad, and was talked up as "ready to drive anywhere!". I put a refundable deposit on it for them to hold it until I could get there which was only about a week. When I got there the car did look nice from 20-feet away, and the interior was in nice shape and it ran strong. The biggest issue was it leaked fluid from almost every orifice. Rear main seal, valve covers, head gasket (saw antifreeze escaping), radiator, transmission, power steering, and rear end all had leaks . . . AiYiYi! Way too many issues for someone who's an amateur mechanic at best, and for what they were asking for it. To Streetside`s credit, they were prompt in refunding my deposit. That horrible experience ended my searching for a car on the "Big Box" car sites where I was going to have to travel hundreds of miles to check out cars.

Ya, that looks pretty rough, but I'm sure you got it pretty cheap and you were able to do much of the resto work yourself, which is great! I'm envious of you guys that have that skill set. I'm learning, but I got a really late start. I needed to buy something that was gonna be pretty turn key, and that's what my car has been so far. Other than a dead battery last fall, and the mystery noise, absolutely no issues in 3-years. It has actually exceeded my expectations.

Food came about a quarter to 12, and we didn't get back to work until 130. Needless to say we didn't get a lot done.

Kenneth was your car impounded for whatever reason before you bought it? Why was it in the chain link? You should have bought the Suburban as well, it matched.

Chris does your car have a clock? You said the noise does not get faster with the car, maybe the clock is getting loud sometimes. Maybe it only happens when you have a passenger and he/she is thumping the side of the seat and you can't see it.

Mike - Sounds like you had a pretty easy day, hope the food was good!

I have a clock, it's in a cluster of 4 accessories under the center of the dash to the right of the steering wheel, L-R in the pic, clock, water temp, oil pressure, and voltmeter. You can barely see the upper right of the clock in the pic. The clock runs and keeps time, but you can't hear it. You may have missed my post, but I took the car out for a drive 2-days ago and I did not hear the noise, who knows if it will come back. I did think of something I haven't checked yet, there are two, 5"x8" speakers in the package tray, and if the mount on one of those is loose at all, I could see it as being able to make the noise I've been hearing.

Ken, It's funny when you look at a unrestored 70-72 Cutlass you can see the bent front bumper from the old wrecker slings. Mine and your cars both had it. I'm guessing the way the openings are it's a weak spot that the slings fit right in.

It was in a very rural (outside a 1200 person town in cow pastures) salvage yard for sale area. The yard got it in a sheriff’s auction - it was in a self storage place with the engine in the trunk. I guess the owners stopped paying and the storage contents got sold off. The salvage yard geniuses punched out the trunk lock to gain access. On a convertible. ???? Then they drove it around with the top down for years - beach, town, parked under oak trees, daily thunderstorms, smoking joints all the time based on the remnants I found all over the car. The interior was toast. Then they parked it in tall grass for some while - the sides were green about halfway up. There were sooooo many half-fast hacks. Motor mounts loose, power steering loose, positive cable from battery to starter cut then twisted together and wrapped with electrical tape. That left me stranded one time, luckily at the auto parts store so I had ready access to replacement parts.

I have replaced or repaired everything on this car, but still have less than $10k total spent.

I coughed up $700 for the car and that drained my bank account. I was saving ip for a new 286 computer with a 287 math co-processor but said what the heck and bought the Cutlass instead. Wasn’t even aware there was a Suburban there, or remotely interested in it.

Yeah What year? I bought my drop top in 82 for $2800. It had been driven by my friends +3 brother thru high school. I drove it 30 miles as a daily diver to work then let my nephews drive it thru high school. My friend+ 3 bother + 2 nephews =six high school boys when I restored it I did everything but the back seat and left the back seat as a shrine

Chris Naturally they had to let it roil backward down hill before dropping it into drive to burn the tires. Ripped out the rear end. It had calk makes on a junk yard differential when I bought it. I replaced with a new posi unit. It is basically what sold me on Oldsmobile quality

1990. It was a replacement for the 1970 Supreme that I inherited from my Dad. I wrecked that car a few times, and it rusted badly due to the vinyl top. I repaired and repainted it, but the rust came back years later so I looked for a replacement.

Here's a pic of both Cutlasses side by side in 1990, along with my Thunderbird and a neighbor's Super Coupe.

Hi everyone.

It seems like a slow day but I think we are leading the pack at 33 wheels signed. Cloudy out but 60, supposed to get near 70.

Kenneth that's excellent that you've had your car for so long. Do you still have the Tbird? If you would have kept the 70 it would have become a convertible all by itself.

So I'm having trouble finding out what exact model of 56 Imperial I have. No other names on the car. Punchcard only says C70, but C70 is a limo. I gotta figure this out because I don't want the tag office to call it a Chrysler Imperial. I think my head would explode.

Eye appointment this afternoon. Haven't been in probably 5 years. I wouldn't go now but I'm out of fresh contacts and one of my current ones is starting to get a ridge.

Okay have a good afternoon everyone.

Mike - I don't believe I'd seen you mention before the year of Imperial you had purchased, or I just missed it? For lack of any pictures (hint, hint), I looked some up. Is yours a 2-door or 4-door? In any case, a very cool and unique looking car! Love it! Those tail lights on top of the rear fins are super unique, and while not rare I always thought the push buttons for gear selection are cool. I believe my Dad's Valiant (can't remember the year now, you told me once but I've forgotten) had those. I'll have to post a pic of my Dad's Valiant again so you can refresh my memory and this time I'll write it on the pic.

Chris I'm done trying to post pictures. My car is a 4 door sedan. Your Valiant would have had the push buttons if it were a 64 or earlier. I remember you posting a picture but I don't remember what year the car was.
