BOOM- lights out. Stood there a second or 2, new Generac generator started, few seconds later- lights back on. Ugh, power out, apparently whole lake. well sure is easier than it was, though much costlier- nice to know generator actually works...
Timeout today on the PS Pump. It beat me up yesterday Absolutely gorgeous yesterday & today so I’m tackling caulking, priming/painting moving scaffolding. Heck, the truck is in the man-cave, I could work on it in the rain.

Just got back from Walmart. I really dislike going there with Mom. I go in, start at the back, work to the front, leave. She gets on an electric cart and has to see everything in the store! And not in any order. And of course the last thing she needs is the first thing I pass when I go in, but could she say something about it so I could pick it up? Nope. No wonder I have to rest when I get back from there.
Kind of cloudy today but blue sky is peeking around here and there. It's warm and a little humid. Good day to give Tiger a bath. He's needed one for a while and I thought I missed my chance.
So Greg good that the new generator works. Was it really a few seconds? I thought it was supposed to be near instantaneous? Anyway good to have lights when no one else does. Unless they all come over.
If you didn't set your clocks last night you'll have good parking at work tomorrow.

Mike - This is the result of possessing two XX chromosomes (in particular the aged). You're not alone. This is the wrath of a Mom's love for her son.

Mike - I really wish I had some words of wisdom, but I don't. However, misery does love company and I'm right there with ya! When I go to Walmart, I'm going to buy, not to shop. My wife however usually has no plan, no list, no idea except she'll know it when she sees it. Therefore we hit almost every isle in the food section. AiYiYi, it frickin drives me nuts!

Well, I'm pooped. It was a beautiful day, so I figured I'd better take advantage of it and clean/wax/winterize my bikes. Had to run both of them up to the gas station and fill the tanks and add stabilizer first. Then the cleaning and waxing. Took most of the day, about 0930 until 1630. I have not started on the car yet. There is a Veterans Day cruise-in at the VA Hospital here in StL next Saturday and I'm going if the weather cooperates. That will be the last event of the season.
Time for some football this evening, my KC Chiefs are playing on Sunday Night Football. Well, time for some dinner, it's fend for yourself night, either leftover grilled chicken fettuccine alfredo, or leftover chicken soup, can't lose either way.
Jim - How did the lake feast go, did ya have have plenty of grub and did ya stay dry?
It’s just before 5 pm here, still lotsa daylight, and I have chikken and crinkle fries on the grill. I have discovered that crinkle fries and tater tots are so much better when cooked on the grill, and especially when I smoke them first.

I've never had crinkle fires cooked that way on a grill. Interesting.
Yay, food. I did not eat much tonight, just some defrosted rotisserie chicken and a can of creamed corn and some sliced cheese in a bowl. Took a large nap as had mild migraine this afternoon.
Friday afternoon I took the thermostat housing off my Monte Carlo, put sandpaper on a sanding block, and sanded it flat running it two different ways side to side. Also sanded the intake manifold, that's the previous picture of mine in the thread. Chased all threads, put Permatex Super 300 sealant on both sides gasket, housing, bolts, and assembled. Also took the two bolt into the head I had loosened for the valve cover job out, cleaned them up, and put Super 300 on them, reassembled. The system had been mostly drained for most of a month now.
Saturday am I left a heater hose loose, then filled till coolant was going to come out there. Put coolant in the heater hose, but did too much as some sloshed when I put it on. Clamped that down and, still leaving the big hose disconnected between radiator and thermostat housing, filled as much as I could and observed for 2 hours for leaks. No leaks were found, so I put the hose back on, filled everything, reinstalled alternator bracket and tensioned belt. Fired it up with no leaks. I had overtensioned the (now used) belt, so I backed it off. It makes a whistling noise, and I think I killed the old water pump this way, even though it was 28 years old by this time. I use the typical Gates gauge now. Warmed it up in place, got thermostat to open, shut it down and put the air cleaner on, ran it some more. Let it sit for several hours, topped off coolant as there was 2 inches of air now on radiator.
Today I left early and went to Cars and Coffee with it. Car did fine, a little coolant on top of housing, but that may have been from spill elsewhere. Car did not put any coolant into overflow, I think it still had some air. Only negatives were I stomped on it to take off in front of the Mustang peel out crowd and it stumbled once due to being cold. Oh well. Tested all systems, actually got FM radio to get a local station loud, got a good Tom Petty song, was loving life, and they followed it up with "Don't You Love Me, Baby", which is almost as bad as getting Rick Rolled. Parked car, let it cool down. I checked it tonight, had about 1 inch air in radiator, so I think it is still burping air.
Photos include filter apparatus to clean coolant that had been removed for a few weeks, clean up mating surfaces, and the holes my grandfather put in around the other side of the air cleaner for a semi-open element.
There is no arguing with this kind of vehicle. Fortunately, it only drove a quarter mile on this road.
That is a big un'! Guessing that's a giant combine that has just dumped the header off onto that trailer/hauler rig up on the left. It probably couldn't even get up the road without taking out mailboxes with the header on it???
I think that's correct. That farm does not own the corner behind me, so I think they come up these two roads just to get to the other end of the property. They all stay off to the left there.

Slept pretty good, got up a half hour early. Now I'm at work and I'm tired. Actually I think that's a conditioned response. Bell rings, drool. Get to work, be tired. Should be a good day.
Thanks guys I was just ranting a bit. I'd do anything for my Mother. I've known her for awhile so it is not a surprise what she does at Walmart. Or anywhere. But I need to be in the right frame of mind sometimes.
John for awhile around here the roads were taken up by houses being moved. Same result, stuck behind slow moving something. I miss the farmland stuff. No farms around me here. There's a dude around here that has a first gen Monte Carlo. It's black, looks nice.
Power came back on last night about 6. It switched instantly no blink or anything. Only reason we could tell utility power was back was generator shut down. Mike when it goes from utility to generator there is a lag. Engine has to start and get up to speed and the it switches. Seems like enough to make the digital clocks go to 1200 and blink....no biggy... Looked at some "here are your memories" pictures from one year ago. That is when we first brought Buddy home. Cute little guy. He has grown though still little. He looks at CO with me every morning, before wifey gets up. It's bachelor time for us boys.... Speaking of that you guys see that "Vincent" has fired up some guys and left?? That happens on the Hamb all the time... I think it is intentional, Some one asks a crazy question or a unpopular opinion and drops out. Maybe they watch and just chuckle?
Had to order a high pressure fuel pump line (EDELMANN 80353). Should be here Wednesday - baby steps. I should be able to get in two hours of painting before tee-time @ 11:11am.
Guy says, I'll be there tomorrow at 7;00 a.m [driving from Mississippi to buy the Vista and wants his coffee black...I sure hope he doesn't make a 6 hour drive to negotiate.
Now the gUy is coming over today from Mississippi And I can't seem to locate the title in my Oldsfolder of 6 cars
Jim - Our titles come in the mail in an envelope. After I pull one out of the envelope to check the info, I put it back in the envelope for protection before I stick it in a folder. Any chance it could have gotten put in an envelope along with another title and just overlooked? Just trying to help!

Yeah, I posted a rolleyes in that thread and it was deleted by moderator because it "didn't provide information related to the topic". My oh my, I suspect the fun factor of those threads is more widespread than we're aware.
Pretty slow day around here. Was really hoping our new credit cards would get here today, it's been 6 business days now and still no cards. Wouldn't be too concerned except we have a few revolving accounts set up for automatic payment that are coming due soon.
Indian Summer continues for the next 3-days with highs in the low 70's, then the bottom drops out with a high of only 50° on Friday and a low of 25° early Saturday morning. The afternoon high on Saturday is only supposed to be 40°. It's supposed to be sunny on Saturday, but I'm gonna have to think long and hard about going to that car show on Saturday if the high is only supposed to be 40°.
