Never expected this...
So I get home Sunday evening after working on my friends car was feeling like crap all day. I thought it was my allergies acting up, my chest was congested and had a really bad headache.
I take a shower, eat a sandwich, and take a nap. I wake up and I still feel like crap but now my jaw hurts as do both my arms, plus I feel like I'm really congested in my chest.
My wife says your going to the ER. We get there and they get me in and hook me up to an EKG and one of em says have you ever had a heart attack. I said no, he says well your having one now.
Anyway, I had one artery completely blocked and a stent, 24 hours later I'm back home all better.

Wow!
Take care of your self....I mean listen to what they are telling you to do. No one than the ones close to you want you to feel better than we do. I'm sure you'll be thinking about this.
Take it easy and let us know how this is going. We like having you around!

Dammit Eric, just heard.
Slow it down a little and screw the stress.
Whatever you have to do, it will be there
tomorrow. Turn off the cell, take a break.
Prayers your way brother.

Wow Eric.......I am glad your wife was there and you guys went to to the ER. Same thing happened to me about 12 years ago. I did't realize how bad I had been feeling until after they put the stint in and I felt good again. I was smoking 2 pks a day at the time. Scared me into quitting. Probably the best thing that could have happened for me in the long run. Listen to the Docs. Glad you are doing OK.
I'm so glad they(your wife included) caught it in time. Hopefeuly the stint will do the trick. Best of luck in your recovery because cars are neat but good old life is the ultmate thrill.Take care of your self, your familey will thank you for it years later....Tedd
Wow - that was a very close call and I am glad you all had it checked out.
Better yet that it was all treated and you are doing better!
My mom had a stent put in a few years ago and it was a fast successful operation, so yours is probably similar. Just take your meds and see the doc as instructed.
Again, glad to hear you're okay.
I had almost thought about meeting up with you again over at Dino Valley this upcoming weekend, but you better stay out of the heat and heal!
You just never know what's gonna happen in life - it is best to try to be prepared for the unlikely!

Wow.
Glad you're okay, Eric, and glad that you went to a hospital that could fix you up and throw you out so quickly!
They don't all do that.
Guess it's time to swear off all those bad habits!

Yes, I was being stubborn and she was very adamant that we go to the ER. I did not think I was having a heart attack as there were no warning signs up to this point.
Thanks for all the kind words and well wishing. I am feeling much better and hope to be up and around really soon.

Hang in there. We ain't done with you yet. There is a big car show in you nice little town and we are all planning on coming over to your house when we are there. Seriously, we are all glad you are married to a good woman who took care of you. Relax. All this car stuff can wait.
Had a nice visit with everyone last night. My wife decided she wanted to tag along and we ventured out as the sun was setting. Felt great to get out and about!
Rob, if it wasn't going to be so damn hot out, I'd love to meet up with ya.

Hey Eric, glad to see that you got it caught in time! My old man has 3 over the past 15 years. He smoked for many years.
I on the other hand have been jogging/running for about the last 16 years and joined a gym to do weights and cardio, I go 5 days a week for a little more than an hour each time. Non smoker/drinker my whole life!
This does not guarantee anything do to family history.
Live life to fullest! Good luck with your health!!

Eric! That's a bit of a scary story! Yep, glad your wife is the stubborn kind (as my wife certainly is!). Take it easy, smell the roses, and wait for some cooler Fall temperatures and maybe a little RAIN!

Glad to hear it's all going well
and you got to get out for a ride.
Let 'em have Labor Day weekend,
to hot for the last days of Aug.
down here in TX anyway. *102 for us today.
Stay in and rest if you can.
Well, maybe some Teriyake chicken breasts
on the grill with a nice fresh salad
and some corn on the cob... Yum.

I know, I want to get out soooooo bad, but don't want to stress in the heat. I'm physically in good shape but the warnings on the meds scare the crap out of me. My wife wants me to take it easy until my doctors appointment in 2 weeks and then ask what I should and should not do. If I cut myself I bleed like a stuck pig and I bruise really easy. I've always been pretty active and never worried about going out in the heat till now. This is all new to me, I've never had high cholesterol or high blood pressure and still don't but yet they have me on meds to treat that stuff. They said I have to take it because that's what you take after a heart attack. So we'll see in 2 weeks.

Eric, sorry to hear about this, thankfully it sounds like you are going to be OK. Listen to you wife, she was right earlier in the week and is right now - just don't let her know it -LOL. Take it easy and try to relax, your body needs to heal, you will get through this and be stronger than ever, just give it a little time. Take care.
Glad to hear you are getting out and about Eric. Good news that your cholesterol is not out of whack. I have to really fight to keep mine under control. Does your family have some heart problem history? I take aspirin everyday and if I cut myself I bleed like a stuck pig. Blood is thin as water. Anyway good to hear you are on the mend. Lay low until you get back to the Dr and take it easy. Milk it for what it is worth. The wife will lose that sympathy factor after a while!
Eric we wish you the best! You will be back at it soon enough... Rest up and use this time to plan what you are going to do next on your project to keep your mind occupied... its a bit like being a caged lion.
