My Aunt Gray is still going strong at 97

Y'all may remember my Aunt Gray's Easter picture from earlier this year. She's still going pretty strong. This is what she was up to today, stringing late crop string beans- or as we call them here, "snap beans".

Possible frost tonight so she made my cousin go pick the snap beans and cover the vines this afternoon.

When she used to do the cooking she always put just a smidgen of bacon grease in the snap beans, or sometimes a couple slices of bacon. Then she'd put in some small chili peppers and, if she had some in season, some spring onions. She cooked her cabbage the same way. Her daughter is a decent enough cook but not like her Mama!

God Bless Her. She looks great for 97. She is a treasure.
