I never saw him in person but my son said he put on quite a show and I am sure he did. Mr. Bojangles was his best.

He’s most well known for Mr. Bojangles, but I always thought L.A. Freeway was a great song too.

man growing up my older brother used to play guitar,he was always playing jj walker,elvin bishop,jj.cale etc really got me into music.

LA Freeway was actually penned by Guy Clark, but I'd certainly agree that Jerry Jeff's is fantastically great. Another JJW classic written by a different artist is "Redneck Mother" by Ray Wylie Hubbard. Jerry Jeff was an inspiration to many musicians and a personality-plus..not afraid to say what he thought. A rarity in today's thin skinned, easily offended generation.
