It's not an olds, but still...

So I was out shooting (photography) today, found a Packard and shot a few frames. I used a process combining multiple separate exposures of the same image. I ended up with a pretty decent final product, and hope to try this method on my 98s when weather warms back up and I can get them out. I had to shrink it 75%, so some detail has been lost.

Very nice effect.

What sort of gear? (and don't say, "iPhone.")

iPhone... nope! Canon 7D with my Tamron 28-75mm. It's six separate exposures.

Hey 64Olds98: Very cool! It looks like a painting! I'd love to see a large print of this. I hope you enter it in some kind of contest.
When can you come over to my place to take some shots of my '67 Delta Custom Holiday Coupe?

Jaybird

The 7D is an 18 MP camera, so the original is about 5200x3500 so it will print pretty big If you can fly me up and put me up for a couple days I'll come and do it for free; I've been wanting to come to Canada!

64Olds98: The 19th annual Oldsmobile Homecoming Car Show and Swap Meet will take place this June 18th in Lansing, MI. I'll be there. It will be my second year. We could meet at the show and I'll buy you a hamburger and fries. No passport needed!

You know if I could get several members interested I could probably take it off as long as I could even out expenses (recently married and graduating college in May).

Wonderful photo! Great skills, too. It does look like a painting.
I sure like the looks of that Packard - I think you should try to buy it...
I have always like them.

WOW! What a beautiful picture! You did a wonderful job with it. It looks like an old poster or something.

That is very cool! My wife is playing around with all of that stuff right now in b/w for a photography class she is taking at U of M. I will also be at the homecoming this year and also wouldn't mind a print like that being done of my car. Since he is throwing the burger and fires, I'll get the shake and the dessert. Maybe we could get you to do a shot of all of our cars together.

I work for Oce a Canon Group Company. If I have the full size file I could print it out on our full color wide format printer in a poster size.

Do a creative Olds shot and submit it at the end of the year for the Olds calendar!

Submit it to Old Cars Weekly and see if they'll use it on their annual calendar. Hemmings Motor News does one too.

Beautiful shot! It really does look like a painting!

So it's not an Olds. It's still an orphan, and a pretty cool one at that.

I agree - it is of high enough quality to be used by either one of those publications.

Also, hate to state the obvious, but if you're posting it in a public forum like this, do be sure it's watermarked and marked with copyright info.

Glad to hear you all think it's calendar worthy. I'll get my olds out soon and get some shots hopefully.
