Hit-n-Run Part II

Well, somebody crashed into the kid's FIRST CAR, before he even got to drive it.

Wednesday 10/28/2015. Gold 1998 Camry, was very pretty and rustfree. Some douchebag hit the left rear corner and mangled the tail light and quarter panel.

Not real sure where or when exactly. Might have been in the parking lot near Office Max on Edgewood, or who knows where. Sometime Wednesday though.

The car was faded of course but SO rustfree. Runs good.

Frickin useless people. Wesley Eli is not quite licensed yet. Mikie's girlfriend has been driving the car on occasion. She took it to work today, then a store run, then to pick up Mike?? At that point he noticed the bashed in quarter. Evidently someone hit it and then just took off.

Leaving ME the bill.
PS I was to get stuck with the car this weekend so the kids can use the old van to go to the Big City with lots of stuff in a car they need not worry much about.

*Sigh*

People really suck. The bumper cover should be easy to just push back into shape. Heat it up with a hair dryer first to make it as pliable as possible to get rid of any creases that might be there. It will also help the paint not to flake.

The QP...well....ouch.

not knowing any of the players my first guess is it was the girl backing into a pole...any paint transfer ? cautionary yellow ? the damage is in the drivers blind spot and covers alot of verticle area

Looks to me like someone got it backing out of a space in a parking lot. Being on the driver's side, how did the girlfriend not notice it when she walked to the car, from any angle?

She's not likely to notice such, it can't be seen from the front

On private property, not much can be done

I asked the kids to inquire about security footage
maybe we get lucky and it was a city bus or something.

Otherwise we are just hosed I guess.
Quarter is bent in about 1-2", trunk not sealed
Friend says he can fix it for me...

Thanks for you kind words of support. It's a bummer.

Wait until you send the car and son to college... The damage done in those parking lots is unbelievable. Don't ask me how I know.

My wife hit and run this defenseless diamondback snake with her Yukon while it was crossing the road about 100 yards from our house. Much to her annoyance I went back to render aid but as you can see it was too far gone.

X2 on this. One of my kids actually asked me NOT to fix her scraped bumper because she said it would surely happen again and what's the point? It was a nice 05 Ford 500.
