A friendly reminder of the upcoming "Meeting of Oldsmobiles and Olds People" in Fredericksburg, TX, November 16-18th 2012. At least 16 (possibly 20) of us will be driving down US281, meeting at the rest area south of Waxahachie on IH35 at 9:30 AM, leaving at 10:00 AM sharp for lunch at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls about 1:00, then on into Fredericksburg Inn & Suites (201 South Washington St, 1-830-997-0202) where we set up camp for the weekend (the Full Moon Inn 1-800-997-1124, 3234 Luckenbach Rd, a B & B owned by Matthew Carinhas also has rooms available). The Admiral Nimitez Museum is a block from the hotel, well worth the tour. Lots of shopping for the Ladies; lots of nice restaurants. Only Friday plans are to do what you want/on your own/hang out/kick tires; will probably walk up to the main drag for dinner, as a group, about 7'ish. Saturday breakfast (quite good) provided by the Fredericksburg Inn. 12 noon departure to the Full Moon Inn for BBQ lunch. BYOB/drinks/chairs for tire kicking. Donation for food. Leave at 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM for cruise w/stops at a local winery and on over to Luckenbach, Texas to check it out, chickens, musicians, post office, and all. 7 PM - dinner catered at the Fredericksburg Conference Center Room (ok to arrive earlier). Cost about $20/per/person. Raffle afterwards with proceeds going to a worthy cause. Surprise home grown entertainment will be provided.... Sunday departure, on your own, group, whatever. This will be our 3rd year at Fredericksburg, and it's always a ton of fun, especially in a caravan driving down 281 to get there, and back! Come on down! Centrally located for the Houston/Austin/San Antinio Olds folks, also! Be sure and throw in your 2 way radios, set to channel 8, for caravan communications.
