Eastern Ontario members meet

Why should the Texans have all the fun?

Who would be interested in cruising Ottawa September 29? We could meet in Kanata mid-morning and head east via the Ottawa River and Rockliffe parkways. Maybe end up in Rockland for lunch.

Who would be interested?

Northern N.Y. state and western Quebec members are welcome too!

Got your email, LETS DO THIS.

FYI, i'm sealing up my transmission pan this weekend. Tonight i'm driving down to Plattsburgh to buy some oil and fluids for the change. I already have the filter kit.

Seems everything is working pretty well so far.

If there is a get together of Eastern Ontario members, I would be very interested in hearing anything about Reid Bros. out of Arnprior or Marcellus Motor Sales out of Morrisburg. I own cars that were sold new at both dealerships and would be interested in any old memorabilia from either dealership. Reid Bros. is now in its third generation. Marcellus went out of business in the 1980's

Pacecar, have you tried contacting Reid Bros. About memorabilia?

I have not seen any stuff from either dealership but if I hear of anything I'll let you know.

Here are the updated details for the cruise.

Meet up at 10:00am Saturday September 29 at the Eagleson Park & Ride (east lot) in Kanata, Ontario.

We will head east to the Ottawa River Parkway (Sir John A MacDonald parkway now?). This ends downtown and we will continue to the Rockliffe Parkway and take it to Orleans and finally onto the 174 out to Rockland. We can have lunch at Boston Pizza in Rockland around noon-ish.

Anyone who is interested in joining in, please let me know.

Hope to see some of you on Satruday!

Hey Paul,

We'll be there! We've planned the weekend around dropping my girlfriend off at a writer's conference not too far away from Ottawa.

Any of you guys bringing a tow hitch in case my cutlass gives up lol

Should I take the Delta, instead of the Cutlass, to tow yours? I can probably find the bumper hitch I took off somewhere around here

I'll let you know when I'm partway to Ottawa. I took her for a little drive last night. Everything seemed to be okay. I'm thinking of changing the oil since I havnt changed it since last fall (I've done almost 2300km since). I'll do that tonight when Noone is looking in my parking garage..

You bet!

here's a picture of Tony's Travelling Adventures, The Cutlass made it back to the USA!

(Picture taken at Shell in upper NY State).

you guys have cool fuel pumps, there's a little tab on the handle that lets you fill the tank automatically. And it stops when the fuel level reaches the top.

Cursed montreal and it's 1985 style fuel stations.

Could it just be a Montreal thing to not have those?

I remember using those here, but only to try it. I haven't used one in a while, so don't know if we still have them.

The things we Americans take for granted lol! I've never given it a thought but next time I fill up I'll take a moment to appreciate the lever catch that saves my back from bending over the whole time

That auto shut off used to be standard on ALL gas pumps in Canada. BTW if you want to see a really COOL gas pump? Come on over to Alberta on Tuesday. We're getting our first batch of SNOW. I could just spit!

Snow!?? Already!?!

But you just started getting hot and heavy with working on your differential!

Are you going to put a block heater in your garage this winter so you can work?

So, plan is, i'm leaving Montreal at 7h30 to give myself some extra time in case i need to stop. Plus my cutlass cruises really smooth at 55mph so thats what i'll drive.

Insulated coveralls son! I'm sure the cool weather won't stick. Besides, the install will be much faster than the removal.

Enjoy the drive through the US and have fun at the show. 55 mph? Are you serious? Mine runs smooth at any speed (when it's running). 55 mph is the 'econo' range though for best mileage. Be prepared for lots of honking from faster drivers.

After a foggy and cool start this morning, the sun came out and it turned out to be a great day for a drive.

Four of us met in a parking lot just west of Ottawa. Left to right in the picture below: Chris (71 Ragtop), me, Jeff (furtrader) and Tony (Tony72Cutlass'S'). It was nice to finally meet Tony in person and the rest of us all being from Ottawa know each other already.

Here are pictures from the parking lot where we met up.

After the drive to east of Ottawa, we stopped for lunch and met up with another Olds owner, Derek.

Unfortunately, after lunch, I had to head back west but the rest of the group went to Derek's to look at his project.

I am sure more pics to come from the others.
